You've all probably had a good run through everything in this test build by now, right? The next update is all about RVs. Before we go live, we want to see what you've already been making —

The test is nearing its end, and your ideas keep getting richer. This issue we picked a batch of suggestions to chat about.

Player Feedback

Q1: Can you add a horde base-defense mode?

A: Yes. That tense all-nighter of defending your home against a horde. We'll make it happen.

Q2: Instruments losing durability while playing is such a waste (losing it when smacking zombies is understandable).

A: We'll optimize this. Playing a nice tune shouldn't smash your instrument.

Q3: Please enrich map exploration — add high-risk, high-reward spots like large military bunkers, abandoned airports, and coastal docks.

A: Sure. We'll add high-risk, high-value points across the map.

Q4: Holding E to demolish blocks takes too long — can it be shorter, or get a dedicated demolition tool?

A: Sure. We'll optimize demolition efficiency so you can tear things down nice and quick.

Q5: Can supermarket shelves and similar scenes get decorative loot models, plus signs of being ransacked, for more apocalyptic realism?

A: We'll add that — still depends on scheduling — to deepen the wasteland immersion.

Q6: Please differentiate crouch / stand / run footstep sounds (quieter when crouching, louder when running).

A: This one… we actually already did it… We'll check whether there's a bug somewhere.

Q7: The game defaults to the NA server — I'd like it to default to my local region.

A: Already fixed. A ping bug was causing inaccurate matching. Now it'll stick closer to your local region.

Q8: Can the delete-character confirmation screen show the character's name? To prevent accidental deletes.

A: Sure. The delete confirmation will show the character name, so you won't slip and wipe out your hard work.

Q9: I'd like to use the mouse wheel to switch building floors/pieces.

A: We'll go one better and add a "god-view" building mode, so you can look down on the whole thing and build whichever floor you like.

Q10: Dismantling a car should give rubber (tires) and glass (windows), not just metal, right?

A: Agree. Dismantling cars will yield more material types, so nothing goes to waste.

Q11: I love the city areas (like Oakley) — I'd like cities to be bigger and more numerous.

A: Already in the works! Bigger, more numerous cities are on the way — plenty to explore and loot.

Q12: Can the zombie heads littering the ground decay and disappear over time (Zed Head Decay)?

A: Sure. We won't let those "trophies" pile up at your door forever.

Q13: I'd like food expiration counted in in-game time (shorter), not real-life hours; and canned food shouldn't expire.

A: Noted. We'll retune the freshness values to make the apocalyptic survival pace more reasonable.

Bug Fix Progress

  • Main quests getting stuck / not spawning enemies / unable to reset; OBS / stream-capture black screen

🔧 Confirmed, fixing

  • Stuck in terrain / clipping, character (special infected) invisibility, loot-refresh anomalies, vehicles vanishing, frame drops / performance degradation, CPU overheating, zombie AI / death-detection, lockpick detection, audio loss, frame rate not capping, sorting box not accepting materials, etc.

📝 Logged, scheduled

  • Training screen freezing, territory / building bugs, combination & door lock failures, light / generator power failures, weapon damage not applying, dying on login, vehicles floating, etc.

🌐 Network-related

  • Server crashes / connection timeouts, stuck at 100% loading on a black screen → mostly network-environment issues; please check your network or switch nodes and retry

🔍 Investigating / TBC

  • Settings not working, save / item loss, UI freezing, corpses / trunks not lootable, gun attachments lost on dismantle, etc. can't be reproduced yet; the rest are being checked one by one
