addedWith this update, we now have two versions: official version and experience version. All new contents will be implemented in the experience version first, and, after a period of time when we believe they are stable enough, will be merged into the official version. When you start the game from STEAM, a selection dialog will appear and you can choose either of the two versions. At present stage, the experience version includes two types of servers. Permanent server: the server 10 will serve as a permanent experience version server. Monthly server: in contrast to permanent one, monthly server is our fresh idea that will be reset each month, enabling players to experience the newest quest lines with a fresh start. In the future, we may use the monthly server as a lab, introducing some experimental monthly activities and new playing methods.
addedNew contents: Traveler's Shelter Six months have passed since our last update. How time flies! During that time we were busy with our new content: Floating Island. As the playing mechanics in Floating Island is pretty different from the current sandbox system and need a good deal of work, we had to spent much more time on it. And we sincerely apologize for this. (So we broke our promise, anyway.) This update is still based on the existing game contents and around the traveler's campground, adding a whole set of items and foods related to the camping life. In addition, we significantly optimized the early stage process and adjusted some quests to offer our players better experience. The update also comes with some adjustments and bug fixes. Camping Life In Camping Life, a player can quickly build a fully functional temporary camp with convenient materials, living in a temporary tent, facing the campfire, and sleeping sound in the scent of nature. The camping system is friendly to new players as they can quickly build their homes. For more capable players, it allows them to establish a temporary foothold before further exploring new areas. New Items: Foods Added some lower-cost foods white lowered some foods’ cost. These foods can be used as daily staples. Players no longer have to live on roasted meat and jerky, thus can gain more imagination. New foods:
changedAdjustments Adjusted the early stage quests to focus on camping life; reduced the difficulty of the quests and significantly increased the early stage rewards. Stone pickaxe was changed to horn pickaxe, which needs to be made with Horn Materials. Animal Bone was renamed to Horn Material, representing animal horns and beaks, etc. Rubble was renamed to Huge Stone, used for advanced buildings and advanced stone tools. Seeds are foods now. Basic items, such as bonfire, weaving mill and rope, now need less materials.
fixedOptimization & Issue Fixes Adjusted lighting and materials, bringing higher quality game screens. Fixed many and many problems (and introduced lots of new issues, maybe). Improved all basic operations of characters.
addedAbout the updates in the future From now on, we will simultaneously advance the Floating Island and the original contents, and come back into a state of frequent updates (maybe), no longer with a delay of six months(hope so). Subsequent updates will depend on the feedback from this update. We will gradually optimize the game according to players‘s experience at different stages, constantly adding corresponding items to enrich players’ survival experience at each stage. On top of this, we will add a lot of new items and new playing methods. A new type of basic material - Clay - will be added, as well as other clay-related items. In the future, you will be able to plant trees, store water with items, or use small traps to catch animals. There also will be many changes in the combat system and operations. Just look forward to them! PS Don't rush, I swear that we are busy making them. (New -> New Folder)
addedThere is something serious that the producer wants to add in the end. I think it's necessary to explain what takes us so long to update. When this game went live on STEAM EA in the middle of last year, there were only 2 staff in our team, and we met a lot of problems at the beginning. We tried our best to deal with them and fix bugs, and have completed a lot of iterations. For us, each update means working around the clock for several days. We felt more or less powerless during the process, and more importantly, we don’t have enough time to solve many problems concerning the players’ experience. This problem was exacerbated by the content production of Floating Island. At the beginning, we thought we could finish the content production of Floating Island in 2 months, but as you can see, though we’ve tried a lot of directions, the quality never meets our expectations. I think we should stop working and think about how we can bring an essential change to the current dilemma. So, in the past few months, we spent a lot of time on improving the production capacity, and it’s worthwhile from it looks now. We got significant support from some partners who share a common goal. Now, our team has gradually taken shape (small and warm). Though we’ve wasted some time, I believe that we can polish up the game in a steady way in the future. Thank you so much for your constant attention (urging us to update). In the time to come, we will work in 3 aspects: The optimization of the game and players’ experience. New quest lines, a lot of new items, creatures, and game mechanics will be provided. We’ll keep updating in this aspect (aperiodically). Super big epic update packages, such as Floating Island. I hope these packages will bring you a completely different experience. Because of our lack of production capacity in the early stage, the launch of Floating Island was long delayed, and perhaps we still need more time to make the preparation. But now we have a clear plan and expectations on its quality. The integration of multiple devices and multiple regions. It has always been our dream to make global players play “Zero-based World” on mobile devices. Our progress was stagnating due to our lack of production capacity before, but I believe we can put more effort to realize it in the future. In a word, we will try our utmost to finish what we have started (New -> New Folder, again), so please don’t urge us anymore.
