addedZaxoid Demo Update 1.1.0 is now live on Steam! πŸš€πŸŒHuge thanks for the ongoing feedback and enthusiasm, it's fueling our orbital thrusters. We've been blasting through your suggestions and polishing the core experience. This patch adds new depth to defending your world, tightens up controls, introduces scoring for the high-score chasers, and brings a ton of visual and audio refinements. Here's the breakdown:
changedCitizens & Rescue MechanicsWhen your city takes hits from those relentless alien waves, citizens get dispersed across the battlefield. Scoop them up and return them safely to the city to save precious population and earn solid XP rewards. But watch out! If you leave them floating in space too long, Harvesters will swoop in to abduct them. Time to prioritize those rescues during the chaos!
addedOpticlops & Snake EnemiesBig buffs to all snake-type enemies. They now slither with much smoother, more satisfying movement and pack new abilities for extra challenge. The Opticlops boss on Planet Cyrus has received a full overhaul with updated functionality to make that fight even more epic.
fixedShip Controls & Gamepad FixesFixed responsiveness issues on certain controllers (looking at you, Steam Deck pilots). Rotation and firing now feel snappier and more precise across the board.
changedScoring & Multiplier SystemYou've been asking, and we've been debating. Scoring is here! Rack up points with a dynamic multiplier system to reward aggressive, skillful play. Not into leaderboards? No problem! Just ignore it. Scores are local for now, with friends-only leaderboards planned for the full launch.
addedBootcamp & New Player ExperienceAdded more tutorial guidance and info pop-ups to help first-time defenders get up to speed faster without breaking the flow.

Zaxoid Demo Update 1.1.0 is now live on Steam! πŸš€πŸŒ

Huge thanks for the ongoing feedback and enthusiasm, it's fueling our orbital thrusters. We've been blasting through your suggestions and polishing the core experience. This patch adds new depth to defending your world, tightens up controls, introduces scoring for the high-score chasers, and brings a ton of visual and audio refinements. Here's the breakdown:

Citizens & Rescue Mechanics

When your city takes hits from those relentless alien waves, citizens get dispersed across the battlefield. Scoop them up and return them safely to the city to save precious population and earn solid XP rewards. But watch out! If you leave them floating in space too long, Harvesters will swoop in to abduct them. Time to prioritize those rescues during the chaos!

Planets & Visual Upgrades

Each world now feels more distinct with fresh backdrop visuals that give every planet its own unique atmosphere and personality.

Opticlops & Snake Enemies

Big buffs to all snake-type enemies. They now slither with much smoother, more satisfying movement and pack new abilities for extra challenge. The Opticlops boss on Planet Cyrus has received a full overhaul with updated functionality to make that fight even more epic.

Ship Controls & Gamepad Fixes

Fixed responsiveness issues on certain controllers (looking at you, Steam Deck pilots). Rotation and firing now feel snappier and more precise across the board.

Scoring & Multiplier System

You've been asking, and we've been debating. Scoring is here! Rack up points with a dynamic multiplier system to reward aggressive, skillful play. Not into leaderboards? No problem! Just ignore it. Scores are local for now, with friends-only leaderboards planned for the full launch.

Bootcamp & New Player Experience

Added more tutorial guidance and info pop-ups to help first-time defenders get up to speed faster without breaking the flow.

Music & Audio Polish

Tweaked mixing and balancing across all tracks for a cleaner, more immersive soundtrack that pumps during those intense moments.

Decals & Shadows

Introduced a decal system for explosion craters, battle scars, and future surface events on the planet. Tanks and enemies now cast simple shadows to better ground them visually on the curved terrain. Small details, big immersion boost.

Check it all out in the latest update,

Cheers!
