v1.6.34 - Advanced Warfare: Drones, Chemical Weapons, Air Defense & Breaking New

This update expands the military layer in a big way. Everything below works for both the player and every AI nation, costs real money to build and maintain, and carries realistic, connected consequences.

BREAKING NEWS When a nuclear or chemical strike involves your nation, a full-screen bulletin interrupts play with who struck, where, the estimated toll, and the consequences — plus immediate choices (declare a national emergency, appeal to the UN Security Council, rally allies, demand an investigation, and more). The whole world reacts: aggressors are condemned and isolated, victims draw sympathy, and nuclear powers raise their guard.

AIR AND MISSILE DEFENSE (IRON DOME) Build interceptor batteries and stock interceptors that shoot down incoming missiles, drones, and warheads. Heavy salvos can saturate the shield, and ballistic or hypersonic threats are far harder to stop. Strong air-defense nations start with a working shield, and AI defends itself — strike a well-defended power and much of your attack is blunted.

DRONES Drones are now a buildable arms category, gated by your technology generation: reconnaissance, armed UCAVs, stealth UCAVs, and autonomous swarms. Launch drone strikes against enemies — cheaper and lower-escalation than missiles, but enemy defenses down many and losses come out of your inventory. AI powers wage their own drone wars.

CHEMICAL WEAPONS A full program: research, pilot production, weaponized stockpile, then produce agent over time. Using them is a war crime — bounded but horrific casualties, a broken taboo, an international investigation, sanctions, shattered alliances, and collapsed standing — without the planet-ending scale of nuclear war. A cornered AI regime may resort to them.

EVERYTHING IS ACCOUNTED FOR Every warhead, drone, battery, interceptor, and tonne of agent has a build cost and monthly upkeep, charged to the treasury and itemized in the budget ledger. Nothing is free.
