addedThe main reason is that a lot of dev members are unavailable to work due to other life obligations, with the biggest one being that a lot of us are college students. For the last couple years, we have tried to work when we are available, but we have learned that this ends up resulting in us only working for super short bursts as a team. This is not an efficient way for us to work and we decided it would be best for the available team members to work on other projects while the unavailable team members focus on college. We know this is a bummer to hear, but we have plans in place for when we return to the game. Our goal upon development continuing is for the game to be worked on as smoothly as possible with no more long stretches of no progress. In the long run, this new plan opens up dev time for projects that otherwise wouldn’t be able to be created otherwise.
addedWe understand that this is disappointing news and we apologize to everyone who has been waiting for the next update on WORLD ENDS WEDNESDAY. Development will resume in 2027 and we already have a plan in place to ensure the game moves forward the best it can. You mentioned other projects? Yes! While not every member of Chopbusters will be working on these, we are moving forward with new projects aimed to release before development of WORLD ENDS WEDNESDAY continues. We have been working on some of these projects over the last couple months and development has been going super well! I am happy to share that the first of these projects will be revealed this week! Keep an eye on our socials for the exact timing of this reveal! We are very excited to share our new projects with everyone!

Hi everyone. Today we have some news to share on the development of WORLD ENDS WEDNESDAY and our plans through the next year.

We will be taking an extended break from the development of WORLD ENDS WEDNESDAY. We want to be very clear that the game is NOT cancelled and we fully intend to return to development in 2027. Why?

The main reason is that a lot of dev members are unavailable to work due to other life obligations, with the biggest one being that a lot of us are college students. For the last couple years, we have tried to work when we are available, but we have learned that this ends up resulting in us only working for super short bursts as a team.
