Wo Bist Du? changes
It's August 4, 2026. So almost exactly 31 days from now.
You'd think picking a date should be simple, right? Open the calendar, close your eyes, and point with your finger...
Unfortunately, reality looks a bit different.
Because:
Big publishers release games you don't want to step into the path of
Other departments (for me, that's my freelance collaborators) need to be finished. In my case, that's mainly art and sound.
Trade shows/events/sales are happening, and you don't want to release into those either.
Or I have something going on those days myself and can't respond to potential bugs or feedback.
And there's always something.
So if that's the case, and there's no such thing as a perfect date, how do you actually choose?
From the game's side, I made sure as much as possible would be finished. Most importantly, all the major bugs needed to be gone.
I gave my freelancers a deadline one month ahead of mine. Good thing too, since the last art assets are still coming in right now.
And then the Steam calendar was a huge help. With that overview, it suddenly wasn't hard anymore to pick a date.
Let's pray no unforeseen problems show up now.
I'm looking forward to the release and I hope you are too.
