A fun update this week. This one focuses on changes to combat. A lot of the changes to combat are not fully complete and may be slightly buggy especially with animations. This will all be fixed in the coming few updates which will also features updates to movement to complement the combat changes. Until then heres the full list of additions and changes.
Added Bere Island, a new starting location off the coast of Wicklow.
Added two new caves.
You can now block by right clicking, this gives you a chance to block all damage depending on the block stat of your weapon.
Enemies can also block if they possess a weapon, creatures can not.
Added realistic blood to the ground during combat
Improved ragdolls
Overhauled the code base for AI characters, increasing performace, eliminating bugs, and allowing for new features to be easily added in the future.
Improved animations
Updated the look of the Shade to be more bloody and a little bit scary
Updated chest model
Updated bucket model
Made night time shorter
Fixed enemy health bar not facing the camera correctly.
Updated the look of Wisps
Improved internal lighting
As I mentioned, our next update will focus on improving the remaining enemies and characters in the game along with adding a new enemy. This update should also feature (finally) an upgraded quest system allowing for diverse quests that can be tracked better.
