Animations

  • Adjusted the run animation so that it appears less stiff.

  • Adjusted the way that characters look up and down so that it is slightly more exaggerated.

  • Adjusted the way that the characters mouth and head moves when speaking so that it is slightly more exaggerated.

Voice Chat

I have implemented a new Voice Chat system. The old system had quite a few bugs and limitations. This new system provides us a with a solid voice chat system with much better quality and many more features.

  • The mic speaking indicator now animates to better convey that you are speaking.

  • The mic speaking indicator now glows either blue or green depending on if you are speaking whilst alive or as a ghost.

  • Changing your input device in settings no longer forces you into a "not speaking" state, allowing you to change input devices without having to press to speak again each time.

  • You can now enable voice loopback in the voice chat settings so that you can hear yourself whilst changing mic options.

  • You can now see the status of your mic (if you are currently pushing to talk/unmuted) in the voice chat settings.

  • There is now a visual indicator in the voice chat settings that shows how loud you are speaking, allowing you to better dial in your speaking volume.

Future features now possible with this new system:

  • Adjusting how players are heard on the fly. Making the host louder during announcements. Making all players quiet during defense etc.

  • A "Host Only" voice channel. Essentially allowing hosts to communicate regardless of where they are in the world.

  • All voice chat variables are now customizable on a per-gamemode basis. Allowing for voice chat to behave very differently depending on which gamemode you are playing.

In-game Reporting

The game now has an in game reporting system. I care a lot about the game feeling balanced, performing well and being fun to play. But something more important than all of those things is the community feeling welcoming and kind.

If you feel that someone is not behaving this way, or if they are breaking any rules detailed in the Code of Conduct, you can now report them via a new report button when hovering them in the main menu.
