π Warped Space - Build: 690 - Patch Notes:
Date Range: May 27 β June 20, 2025
Hey explorers! We've been hard at work improving core systems, expanding survival mechanics, and fixing long-standing issues. This update brings the first pass of the Base Building Tool update, as building is now via the Build Tool. Also improvements such as quality-of-life upgrades, hydration survival mechanics, new hostile lifeforms, and more.
π οΈ Build System & Base Updates
βοΈ Build Tool Snap System (Prototype) Added β Early stages of snapping for build tool for more intuitive base construction.
π§± Fixed base component power distribution β newly placed components now receive power from the base manager
π§° Base Fabricator Fixes:
Now buildable again.
No longer duplicates items.
UI updated.
- π§Ή Storage cleanup improvementsdeleted items are now removed and storage transfer is smoother (1-at-a-time logic).
π± New Modules & Systems:
Planter added to Research HAB.
Hydro Incubator and Base Refinery are now buildable.
Planting cycle introduced; supports multiple item types.
βοΈ The Forge has been slightly improved and it awaiting playtest feedback

𧬠Auto Research bugs squashed.
π§Ύ Default Schematics now behave like normal schematics.
π Mission system improvements:
Missions can now reward research unlocks.
Added one new mission, removed one outdated.
Updated and fixed multiple test mission locations.
Fixed beacon markers and hostile DPS readouts.

π§ββοΈ Survival Mechanics: Hydration!
π§ Hydration system implemented:
Affects movement (walk/run/EVA).
Monitor hydration status through new UI badge.
π§΄ Craftable Water Bottles:
Right-click to drink.
π§ͺ Water Purifier module added for testing.
π Added eating and drinking SFX.
π§ Various fixes to consumption logic and hydration effects.

Craft water bottles and fill them with water purified from ice fragment.
π§βπ EVA, Tools & Utility Improvements
π¦ Torch brightness can now be adjusted while holstered.
πΈ Ship spotlight brightness can also be adjusted in the same way.
π¨βπ Exit to EVA check, now functions correctly while docked in space dock.
π Updated Space Dock regen chamber position.
π οΈ Updated Tools + Beam Salvaging logic, for a consistent, controlled yield and future gameplay.
Scannable items now show was unknown until scanned

π¬ Introduced Work-in-Progress Opening Cinematic:
1st phase now implemented.
Now skippable and only plays when starting a new game.
