changedRhythmcaster Empra, as the name implies, is a Rhythmcaster of the Warband, trained from childhood to specialise in dealing area of effect magic damage on their foes. With great power comes a great price. As they cast powerful Rhythm Magic through their body, they suffer from their Toll of Magic Passive, where they lose some HP every time they use an ability.
changedThe Toll of Magic , combined with their low health stats, makes Rhythmcaster Empra a glass cannon, so it would be wise to keep them shielded from too much danger. The Toll of Magic Passive can be altered during your runs, by choosing between two unlockable abilities: Glass Cannon or Close and Personal .
changedGlass Cannon doubles down on the HP penalty Empra receives when casting abilities, but increases their Magic stat by 25%, making them more powerful at a greater personal cost.
changedOn the other hand, Close and Personal nullifies Toll of Magic and provides Empra 8% of damage done as a barrier when attacking units within a 2 tile radius, but Empra will suffer a 35% damage decrease on enemies 3 or more tiles away
changedEmpra’s starting ability, Pillar of Flames , is a powerful area of effect fire spell that deals magic damage, with the chance of setting fire to tiles, giving more opportunity to further hurt any units that step on that tile
changedRhythm Tear offers Empra a tactical option, where they can select two tiles on the battlefield to trap. These traps will lower any enemy's magic resistance for 2 turns. However, if an ally steps on these traps, they actually benefit by gaining resistance, making Rhythm Tear a multifunctional ability in Empra’s arsenal.

With great power comes a great price. As they cast powerful Rhythm Magic through their body, they suffer from their Toll of Magic Passive, where they lose some HP every time they use an ability.

The Toll of Magic, combined with their low health stats, makes Rhythmcaster Empra a glass cannon, so it would be wise to keep them shielded from too much danger. The Toll of Magic Passive can be altered during your runs, by choosing between two unlockable abilities: Glass Cannon or Close and Personal.

Glass Cannon doubles down on the HP penalty Empra receives when casting abilities, but increases their Magic stat by 25%, making them more powerful at a greater personal cost.

On the other hand, Close and Personal nullifies Toll of Magic and provides Empra 8% of damage done as a barrier when attacking units within a 2 tile radius, but Empra will suffer a 35% damage decrease on enemies 3 or more tiles away

Empra’s starting ability, Pillar of Flames, is a powerful area of effect fire spell that deals magic damage, with the chance of setting fire to tiles, giving more opportunity to further hurt any units that step on that tile

Rhythm Tear offers Empra a tactical option, where they can select two tiles on the battlefield to trap. These traps will lower any enemy's magic resistance for 2 turns. However, if an ally steps on these traps, they actually benefit by gaining resistance, making Rhythm Tear a multifunctional ability in Empra’s arsenal.

Fireballs. Need we say more about Fireballs? Empra can target up to 2 targets and cast 2 damaging fireballs at them, with the added chance of setting the tiles on fire.

Staying on the topic of fire, Flamethrower is an alternative fire-based ability where Empra deals magic damage to 4 tiles in a cone-shaped area.

Fire isn’t the only element Empra can cast, as with the Lightning Strike ability, they deal high amounts of shocking magic damage to a square-shaped area. If the battlefield is experiencing a storm when the ability is cast, it gains a 20% increase in critical chance.

Implosion is a lethal late-game ability for Empra, where they channel their Rhythm magic into a fierce blast, dealing great damage and pushing back any enemies around the Rhythmcaster into other hazards or traps on the battlefield.

That was just a quick overview of some of the abilities the Rhythmcaster can unlock. They are a powerful magic damage-dealing unit for your warband to help progress through the deadly biomes of the game in their quest to destroy the dark sorcery infecting the lands
