Welcome back to another development update for Wandersky

Over the last few weeks, the team has continued refining core systems, improving the game’s identity, and building out more content across environments, enemies, UI, and gameplay features. This update is focused mainly on the development side of things, giving you a better look at what we have been working on during March.

Environment & Level Art

  • We made progress on biome decoration and environmental polish, helping each area feel more distinct and alive.

  • Also we kept improving the overall readability and visual identity of several areas through decoration, structure, and composition updates.

Lighting, shaders & Visual Effects

  • Improved the lighting in different areas, including ruins, and open spaces, to create better contrast and atmosphere.

  • Continued working on the shader effect that helps players see Kuu behind walls and objects, improving visibility during exploration

  • We also integrated elements such as snow, background blur, and skyboxes to strengthen the mood of different parts of the game.

UI, HUD & UX Improvements

  • We kept polishing the new UI style, making menus, HUD elements, and dialogues feel more consistent.

  • Worked on the quest log and quest panels, improving their behavior and clarity.

  • Worked also with localization setup and text integration.

Enemies, Bosses & Animation

  • We made progress on new enemy behaviours and combat adjustments.

  • Several enemies received updates for attack, idle, hide, and transition animations.

  • We also continued iterating on sub-bosses and boss encounters, improving both visuals and gameplay readability.

Art & Textures

  • Created and polished new textures and assets for biomes, enemies, doors, props, and environmental pieces.

  • Several assets were reviewed directly in-engine and improved after testing, helping them fit better into the world of Wandersky.
