changedThe response so far has been extremely encouraging. Players are enjoying the experience, and the build feels considerably more polished than we expected at this stage: almost closer to a beta than a traditional alpha.
changedThat does not mean the work is finished, of course. Our focus now shifts toward balancing, bug fixing, quality-of-life improvements and all the smaller details that separate a complete game from a polished one.
changedBuilt with Consoles in MindWe hesitate to call this process “porting,” because the console versions have been part of the plan since the beginning. The game’s systems, interfaces and performance have been developed with different hardware configurations in mind rather than being designed exclusively around desktop PCs.
changedBuilt with Consoles in MindWe are now moving from general console compatibility to direct platform work: testing performance, adapting platform-specific features, checking user interfaces and preparing for the various certification requirements.
changedVoivod Is Coming to GamescomWe will reveal our precise booth location and more details closer to the event. Should you be attending Gamescom, be sure to stop by and say hello!

Development of Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior has reached one of its most important milestones so far:

The Alpha version of the full game is complete!

The complete adventure is now playable from beginning to end and has been delivered to our current group of playtesters. They are already exploring its world, fighting its bosses and providing us with detailed feedback.

The response so far has been extremely encouraging. Players are enjoying the experience, and the build feels considerably more polished than we expected at this stage: almost closer to a beta than a traditional alpha.

That does not mean the work is finished, of course. Our focus now shifts toward balancing, bug fixing, quality-of-life improvements and all the smaller details that separate a complete game from a polished one.

Built with Consoles in Mind

At the same time, we have begun the next major phase of development: preparing the game for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

We hesitate to call this process “porting,” because the console versions have been part of the plan since the beginning. The game’s systems, interfaces and performance have been developed with different hardware configurations in mind rather than being designed exclusively around desktop PCs.

The results of this work can already be seen on Steam Deck, where the game runs smoothly and feels completely at home.

We are now moving from general console compatibility to direct platform work: testing performance, adapting platform-specific features, checking user interfaces and preparing for the various certification requirements.

We are also working to obtain access to Nintendo Switch 2 development hardware. This is not an easy process for a smaller independent studio, but we are doing everything possible to make the game available there as well.

Voivod Is Coming to Gamescom

We are delighted to announce that Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior has been selected for the Indie Arena Booth at Gamescom 2026!

From August 26th to 30th, visitors in Cologne will be able to play the game and meet members of the development team in person.

Gamescom will be an important opportunity to observe hundreds of players experiencing the game, collect even more feedback and introduce its surreal Voivodian world to a much larger audience.

We will reveal our precise booth location and more details closer to the event. Should you be attending Gamescom, be sure to stop by and say hello!

The Final Road Toward Release

With the game now complete from beginning to end, our work is becoming increasingly focused: test everything, fix everything we can, refine the balance and make every platform feel equally polished.

There is still a lot to do, but completing the Alpha on schedule confirms that development is moving in the right direction.

Please consider wishlisting and following Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior on Steam. Both actions help the game reach more players as we approach release.

Finally, the Kickstarter Late Pledges will permanently close on August 15th. A limited selection of physical rewards, original merchandise and opportunities to appear inside the game are still available. We are also close to finalizing an agreement for physical console editions, with PS5 looking especially promising, although this cannot yet be officially confirmed.

Thank you for following the development of Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior!
