changedGameplay ImprovementsOne of the biggest changes concerns the game's upgrade system. Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior features nearly 20 upgrades , ranging from classic bonuses such as moving faster, jumping higher, or dealing more damage, to more unusual abilities inspired by the Voivod universe, such as draining life from enemies or being accompanied by an Angel Rat companion.
addedGameplay ImprovementsPreviously, upgrades were limited by a small number of slots. The new system introduces Mutation Load : players now have six upgrade slots available from the beginning, while each upgrade consumes a certain amount of Mutation Load. More powerful upgrades require more capacity, which can be expanded throughout the game. This allows for more interesting character builds and greater freedom to experiment.

Hi everyone,

Development on Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior continues at full speed, and we’re now entering the final stretch toward the alpha version of the full game, still planned for the end of June.

At the current stage, the estimated total playtime is around 15–20 hours, depending on how deeply players explore optional content, hidden paths, and side activities.

Over the past month, we've focused on refining level design, improving enemy and boss behaviors, polishing gameplay mechanics, and revisiting some core systems to make the experience more engaging and smoother overall.

Gameplay Improvements

One of the biggest changes concerns the game's upgrade system. Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior features nearly 20 upgrades, ranging from classic bonuses such as moving faster, jumping higher, or dealing more damage, to more unusual abilities inspired by the Voivod universe, such as draining life from enemies or being accompanied by an Angel Rat companion.

Previously, upgrades were limited by a small number of slots. The new system introduces Mutation Load: players now have six upgrade slots available from the beginning, while each upgrade consumes a certain amount of Mutation Load. More powerful upgrades require more capacity, which can be expanded throughout the game. This allows for more interesting character builds and greater freedom to experiment.

We've also redesigned quick heal. Originally implemented as an upgrade, it is now a permanent ability, improving quality of life and allowing upgrade choices to focus on customization rather than convenience.

Morgöth Science Hospital
