changedIt's with massive excitement that I can finally announce that the first playable version of Vitrified is now live! It has been years of work to get to this point, and the thought of real people finally playing my game is truly awesome. If you want to play yourself, simply request to join using the invite on the store page. The only thing to mention is that it is controller only, but you can play on Windows, Mac or Linux (Steam Deck!).
addedIn terms of actual game, a massive amount of content has been made to get it into a state where you the player get a worthwhile experience from the playtest. I have added two new enemies - wolves and giant spiders, added a whole new area with an NPC who gives you a quest, vastly expanded the underground tunnels, and added a host of secret areas. So far, the average play time has been about an hour to do the one quest, which I'm honestly really proud of, and I really hope you will enjoy your time in the world of Vitrified too.

Some close friends have already played and I've done an awful lot of testing, so hopefully the game has less bugs than you might expect from a playtest build. However, if you do find a bug, I would massively appreciate if you told me about it on the games Discord: https://discord.gg/j3TdUAUuHr

As well as bugs, I'd love to hear anything and everything you have to say about the game on the Discord, good or bad! I value every piece of feedback, and want to make the best game I possibly can, so all feedback plays a massive part in the future of Vitrified. I'll also be posting more regular development updates there.

So what's next? Well with this playtest I am hoping to chisel the starting area and core mechanics into a state that provides players with a fun and memorable experience, which I will then release as the demo. From there, I will start expanding the world and game content towards the full game. Plans for the rest of The Wasteland and the story behind the player and ALANs journey has been in development for a long time, and I am so excited to finally set my sights on the full game. Right now, I am really hoping that I can get to that point by the end of 2026.

Thank you for following along with the journey of Vitrified. Your interest in my game honestly means the world to me. See you soon, and please enjoy the playtest!
