Devlog #9 for 0.3.0.0 - New Riding Lessons, Map Rework & Visual Expansions

During the week of December 8th to 13th, 2025, we worked on the following elements of the game: Riding Lessons (Tutorial) We started programming the tutorial in the form of riding lessons.

addedDialogue (Text)We have reworked our dialogue system for future quests as well as general conversations that may take place with NPCs. The first use of this new system will be within the riding lessons. However, the system is currently still in work-in-progress status.

During the week of December 8th to 13th, 2025, we worked on the following elements of the game:

Riding Lessons (Tutorial)

We started programming the tutorial in the form of riding lessons. These riding lessons will be selectable in the riding school in the future and can be completed similarly to the show jumping training sessions. However, the riding lessons will be completed with the riding school’s horses and not with your own.

Our goal is to provide all players – regardless of their experience with horse games – with an easy and understandable introduction to the game. Since our riding system is being expanded and does not follow the classic standard, a well-structured tutorial is especially important.

Dialogue (Text)

Animations & Textures

This week, we worked on the animations for the new jumping system. The base animations are already in place, but they will continue to be refined and fine-tuned as development of the system progresses.

In addition, we worked on manes and tails. To allow for more variation in hair quality, we created five new texture bases:

  • Straight

  • Straight & messy

  • Rough

  • Wavy

  • Curly

With these textures, we will be able to create a wide range of different appearances for the new breeds.

Currently, there are three tail variations:

  • Medium-thick tail

  • Thick tail

  • Braided tail

At the moment, there is one mane model available – a long, flowing version.

We have also drawn a large number of new eye colors for the horses. We hope you like these additional variations!

Outlook for Next Week

Next week, we will continue working on manes and tails and will also begin focusing more on reworking the coat colors.
