Release Postponement

The planned update 0.3.0.0 will be postponed until at the latest February next year. The reason for this is several factors:

  • Ongoing tax processing that requires additional time

  • Hardware replacement, as a power supply unexpectedly failed

  • An underestimation of the workload for some of the new content

However, our top priority remains clear: A clean, stable, and well-playable update for you.

This week (December 1–6) we worked on:

Reworking the Status Values

We have begun making all status values fundamentally functional or reworking them. These include:

  • Health

  • Hunger

  • Cleanliness

  • Fatigue

Performance & Code Optimization

Many existing code structures were revised or completely rewritten in order to:

  • improve performance

  • make processes more stable

  • keep future expansions easier to integrate

Weather

The current weather state is now saved correctly and restored after switching maps or restarting. This means:

  • Weather data remains persistent

  • Transitions appear more natural

User Interfaces

Many of our existing UIs have been reworked so that they are optimized for higher resolutions.

3D Work

Adjustment of the Equipment Sets

This week we worked on adapting the existing saddle and bridle sets to the new horse. Reworking all parts so that they harmonize with the different body shapes of the breeds required a lot of time and many manual adjustments — but now it is finally done.

Now we have to integrate everything back into the game, and then we should be ready to prepare horses with full equipment for riding.

New Trees for the Campsite

We also worked on new trees, including the pine and the fir.

While doing so, we noticed that the older trees appeared less detailed in comparison. So we reworked those as well. This took a little longer than expected, but the result was absolutely worth it — now the world is populated with significantly better flora!

New Textures for Buildings

We also created many new textures for the buildings that are mainly intended to be used on the forest map. These include:

  • the open stable for the storage area

  • a wind shelter

  • new fence elements

  • various lamp types

  • new window textures

  • stands/standing areas for the riding school

With these tasks completed, we can now focus next on further animations, the new manes and tails, and the new coat variants of the horse — which we are already very excited about!

Tests for Mane and Tail Physics

Note

We know that a postponement is never pleasant, but it is necessary in order to deliver a high-quality update.
