Tower Alchemist: Defend Khaldoria changes
In this devlog, we are talking about the current development of patch 0.4 of mystic towerdefense.
User Interface:
Currently we are working on some changes in the User Interface. We were missing an overview about how many enemys are left in the current wave, so we decided to add a new UI Element for this. We also needed additional information about the countdown when the next wave starts.
Wave Countdown:
First we were thinking about adding a UI Element above the entrance portal, but we decided that that is not a cool way to show the countdown and we wanted to avoid redundant informations. That is why we took a simpler approach and added a easy to understand Countdown text in the middle of the screen. We also added a simple skip button, which allows the user to skip the countdown and start the next wave immediately.
Marketing is hard:
Another step to push the marketing a little, was to record some gameplay footage, which we used for a new gameplay trailer for instagram and steam. Its important, that potential customers know how the game looks and feels.
Tutorial:
A feature that we plan for version 0.4 is a playable tutorial. We want the main character to playfully learn defending its home with magical towers. Due to the fact, that the character is a child when we start playing with him, we decided, that it will be a cool way, to start the game with something like a wooden game board, to make sure the player and the character of the game learn how to defend the kings land, the easy and childish way.
Modeling the tutorial scene:
Right now, we are 3d modeling the gameboard and the maze pieces, so we can test it in the near future in unity and get an idea how it will look in the game.
