COMBAT SYSTEM OVERHAUL

  • The combat system has been rebuilt as a particle-based battlefield simulator.

  • Battles now take place on a dedicated battlefield screen, and you can deploy your units before combat begins.

  • A unit's morale directly affects its combat ability. Higher morale improves combat efficiency, while lower morale reduces it.

  • Single Combat and Stratagems can occur during battle; their outcomes can shift morale and the overall situation.

  • The battle results screen shows the outcome, remaining troops, each officer's result, and the most distinguished officer. If that officer was still using an alias, their true name is revealed.

  • Battles are fought on battlefields with terrain features such as mountains, hills, and marshes.

  • On the main screen, pressing the [Check Troops] button in the lower-left displays each city's troops. From there, clicking a city lets you preview that battlefield's terrain.

SIEGE BATTLES

  • Siege battles are separate battles centered on the gate and inner keep.

  • The attacking side must break through the gate and push into the castle.

  • The defending side holds off the attack with troops on the walls and inside the keep.

  • Gate and inner keep durability can be checked on the battle screen.

HARASSMENT DETACHMENTS

  • A harassment detachment is a defensive order that delays an enemy unit already on the move.

  • If the detachment succeeds, the enemy unit's movement is delayed by 1 turn.

  • The success chance is based on the troop ratio between both sides and the stat differences between their officers.

  • If the detachment fails, officers may be captured or killed.

  • After completing its mission, the detachment returns to its city of origin regardless of whether the delay succeeded.

GRAPHICS

  • Replaced the world map background with an ink-wash map image based on real terrain.

  • All officer portraits have been overhauled.

OTHER

  • Reworked the text size system into Small / Medium / Large.

  • Reviewed officer stat suggestions collected through the Officer DB site and reflected them in officer data: Jiang Wei, Gongsun Yuan, Guo Tu, Guo Si, Pan Jun, Fan Chou, Sun Hao, Li Jue, Zhang Xian, Ju Shou, Cheng Yu, Zhuge Liang

  • Removed the Dasinong position. Its former production bonus has been folded into Shangshu Ling.

  • The minimum stat threshold for officers appearing in the starting draft now depends on difficulty. Example: in True Name / Mixed / Alias modes, only officers whose combined Leadership, War, Intelligence, Politics, and Charm total is 280 or higher can appear in the draft.

  • You can now click moving units or messengers to make them wait for 1 turn.

  • Various UI/UX improvements have been made.
