The Perfect Tower II changes
Hi everyone!
On November 30th, 2020, The Perfect Tower II entered Early Access (web-only). Over the past 5 years, the game has changed significantly and broadened its original vision. Your feedback and support have enabled us to refine the game, addressing hundreds of issues, undergoing multiple UI reworks and Unity updates and incorporating numerous quality-of-life features.
Thank you for your patience! We are at last prepared for the next step.
The Perfect Tower II is going to leave Early Access on November 30th 2025!
We are attempting to keep this post brief even though there is a lot to say. Over the course of the next week, you might see a few more posts. Please let us know in the comments if there are particular topics you would like to learn more about. For instance, we intend to write a post explaining the idea behind TPT2 and how it evolved over time.
New Branding
Version 1 deserves a fresh professional look. That’s why we’ve invested some town resources and got Fully Illustrated to design a logo and key art for the game! We love how Fully Illustrated captured the look of the game and how much detail is hidden in the key art.
Let us know what you think :D
Our journey so far
Over the past six years we’ve released more than 310 updates, from the first reveal through closed and open alpha, beta and finally Early Access.
In that time we’ve rebuilt core systems, squashed countless bugs, upgraded Unity 15 times and added a ton of new features (many inspired directly by your feedback).
You’ve sent in nearly 5000 suggestions, reported countless bugs, hung out with us for over 60 hours of Twitch streams and many more on Discord and we’ve poured more than 18000 hours of development into the game.
All of that work and all of your support, now comes together in one milestone: the v1.0 launch.
v1 Highlights
Highscore Mode - beating the game now unlocks a Highscore Mode that lets you start a new game with optional challenges to earn the best score
74 Steam achievements
Progression has been rebalanced to especially improve the early game
We’ve rebalanced CPU/RAM upgrades in Headquarters and reduced their cost so that software becomes part of early progression
Modules rebalanced - nearly every module can now be upgraded up to tier 250, with new scaling formulas that keep them useful in the late game
Software loadouts
In-game guidance system starring Dr. Cubical
Six skills and three exotic skills per building
New Tower customization options
New contracts
New modules
New AI functions/actions
Post v1 roadmap
Even though v1 marks a major milestone, it’s not the finish line. In our last post we promised that The Perfect Tower II will continue to receive updates after v1.
We intend to provide new content in addition to bug fixes and quality of life changes.
Here are some of the things we still have planned for after v1 releases (we will go into more detail at a later time):
Workshop UI overhaul
More localization support and ideally community localizations!
MT16-20
More Festivals
More challenges for the Highscore mode
Mobile version
FAQ
What happens to my Early Access saves?
Nothing! Apart from having to automatically migrate some options (based on when you last played), you can keep playing with your Early Access save.
A lot has changed in terms of progression, so we would recommend starting a fresh save for the full experience or why not try Highscore Mode if you’ve finished the game once?
Will the modding DLC be available at launch?
We’ve decided against launching the modding DLC with v1. It’s mainly because the modding editor is not where we want it to be and we didn’t want this to cause any more delays to the v1 release. We’re aiming for a Q1 2026 release of the modding DLC.
Make sure to wishlist the modding DLC to get notified when it launches:
When do we get a mobile version?
Now that v1 is ready, we feel confident that we can provide a stable mobile version, but first we need to change some UI and input methods so that the game will even be playable on mobile. After that we will start a test phase with a small player group from our Discord server. Expect mobile in 2026, but after the modding DLC.
What about The Perfect Tower 1 remake?
We wanted to give the v1 release our full attention before continuing work on the remake of The Perfect Tower. We will continue development at the start of the new year and provide you with further updates. Do not expect the remake before a Steam Next Fest, as we want to make use of Steam Next Fest to potentially reach new players.

Please post any questions you have in the comments. We will be providing an updated FAQ closer to launch.
Thank you
This journey started in 2016 with the release of the first The Perfect Tower, and we couldn’t have come this far without you. Your patience and feedback were instrumental in creating The Perfect Tower II. We’re incredibly excited to share version 1.0 with you and to continue expanding the game afterwards.
Don’t forget to tell us what you’re excited about and what else we should share before the v1 launch.
Cheers,
SpeedyBrain & XmmmX
