The NOexistenceN of Morphean Paradox : The Forest of Silver Shallots changes
Steam post image EA Rebuild Update Outlook
This is not a regular update.
This is a full rebuild of the game’s core architecture.
In the initial Early Access build,
the game failed to meet our expected standards in terms of completeness, stability, and overall experience.
Rather than continuing to patch the existing foundation,
we ultimately decided to restructure the entire core framework.
The goal of this Rebuild is simple:
to make the game more complete, more stable, and closer to what we originally envisioned.
I. About Remnant RPG
We call this framework:
Remnant RPG
It is not a traditional branching tree where choosing Option A leads directly to Ending A.
Your choices may not immediately alter the final outcome,
but they leave traces across the world.
The words you speak, the moments you stay silent, the choices you miss when hesitating—
all may resurface in unexpected ways at some point in the future.
The New Game+ world will also differ significantly from the first playthrough.
What we aim to deliver is this:
On the same path, different people see different landscapes.
Some changes are never explicitly explained.
What feels "off" to you might itself be part of the answer.
II. Update Contents
■ Narrative Structure Overhaul
The main story prologue and Chapter 1 have been fully rewritten.
The worldbuilding and core lore remain intact, but narrative pacing, dialogue quality, and branching logic have been comprehensively revised.
Side quests and character personal storylines have also been restructured, no longer mere appendages to the main plot.
New additions include: Lilith’s personal side quest
Town exploration event lines
In-depth character side content
Multiple endgame routes
Death narrative system
Tutorial narrative (guided by story instead of pop-ups)
Flexible companion system (in extreme cases, the journey can be completed with just one companion)
The current script totals over 500,000 characters, featuring 2,600+ narrative nodes and multiple major ending routes.
A first playthrough takes approximately 8–12 hours.
Different choices lead to distinct dialogue, events, and scenes.
■ Narrative System Upgrade
Part 1: Opening Sequence Fully Rewritten
Overhauled motivation logic for the Lone Wolf path
Added Lilith name-change easter egg
New countdown choice mechanic
Fixed cross-playthrough data issues in New Game+
■ Personality Trait System
Personality traits added to all key choices
Failing to choose within time limits affects personality alignment
New differentiated personality weight for the Lone Wolf path
■ New Gameplay: Tower of Ascension
An endless challenge mode.
Enemies grow stronger with each floor, while character progress persists.
There is no final floor.
Only how far you can go.
■ Combat System Remade
Rebuilt skill logic and target selection
New auto-battle and fast-resolve unlock mechanics
New "Echo of Will" system
Visualized skill range
Added item usage during combat
Dynamic distance calculation for skill ranges
■ Dialogue System Improvements
New dialogue history log
Narrative presentation of skill check results
Visualized character personality panel
■ Early Game Experience Overhaul
New launch guide page
Redesigned main menu and guild interface
Cooking mechanics now manually triggered
■ Stability Fixes
Resolved dialogue script ID conflicts
Fixed missing UI components
Fixed localization merge errors
Fixed incorrect New Game+ data deletion
■ Temporarily Removed: Thought System
The Thought System will be temporarily removed in this Rebuild.
The current version has deviated from its original design intent.
It led players into unfocused open-ended thinking, rather than supporting narrative and decision-making.
We will reintroduce it in a more focused form after refining its core purpose.
III. Voice Acting
Full voice acting will be implemented in the official release.
The EA phase prioritizes complete text and overall gameplay experience.
IV. A Small Suggestion
Avoid frequent save-scumming.
Don’t chase the "perfect choice."
Follow your intuition, and walk your own path through The Forest of Silver Shallots
V. Building The Forest of Silver Shallots Together
If you encounter logical inconsistencies, plot gaps, or any abnormal experiences during gameplay, we welcome your feedback.
This world is still growing.
Your feedback will become part of it.
VI. Save Files
This update will not be compatible with old save files.
We recommend starting a new game to experience the full Rebuild content.
VII. Achievements
Achievements are not available during Early Access.
They will be fully unlocked upon official release.
VIII. EA Price Adjustment
With the launch of EA Rebuild, the Early Access price will be adjusted to reflect the current content scale and overall scope.
New EA Price:
USD $6.99
This price adjustment takes effect on June 24, when EA Rebuild goes live.
The current price remains in effect until then.
This change will not affect players who have already purchased the game.
Final Note
We know the initial launch experience disappointed many of you.
This Rebuild is not a simple patch.
It is a fresh start after redefining our direction.
If you are willing to give us another chance,
we hope you will enter this world again with a new save file.
And we hope this time, you will see what it was always meant to be.
