What changed
- UI and audio
- Gameplay
I am absolutely blown away. The Kickstarter campaign for The Lost Hotel has officially come to an end, and thanks to the incredible backer support, it reached over 246% of the initial funding goal! 🚀
To everyone who backed the project, shared the news, played the Steam demo, or cheered from the sidelines: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This journey has been surreal, and seeing the project get selected as a Kickstarter"Project We Love"was the ultimate cherry on top.
(I also got rejected by a publisher but nevermind, lol)
What's new
Music and Sound
Some incredibly talented people have discovered my project and will be working on the game's music and sound... I can't wait!
Romance
I can now officially confirm that The Lost Hotel will feature Romance Options, with hotel guests, staff and crew members. Yes, you get to find love inside a sci-fi time loop!
Localization
Multiple language localization (German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese...), with more translation options being actively planned.
New NPCs
The hotel is getting even livelier with new characters to meet, each bringing their own unique secrets, quests, and personalities into the time loop. This also includes the backers' NPCs, who are woven into the story based on the tier they selected.
Skill Tree
A proper Skill Tree system! This will give you more gameplay depth, allowing you to unlock cool abilities and customize how you approach solving the hotel's mysteries with every loop.
What’s Next?
Gosh, I am done watching numbers, lol!
Now, my main focus shifts back to development, expanding the story, and polishing the demo for Steam Next Fest in June. I also need to work on the backer rewards and start collaborating with my partners (composers, sound designers and translators).
The current roadmap targets a full release in Fall 2027. I want to make sure this game is everything you hoped for and more, so I appreciate your patience as I pour my heart into making it perfect.
If you haven’t already, the playable demo is still available right here on Steam, so please give it a try (or wait until the next update for Steam Next Fest) and make sure to add The Lost Hotel to your wishlist!
Stay tuned for more dev logs!!!
Thank you for being part of this journey,
pixlerin
