🛠️ Major Update: Level 7 Optimisation & UI Overhaul (Build 1.0.1)

Hey everyone,

First off, a huge thank you to everyone who’s been diving into the dungeon and sending over feedback. We’ve been working around the clock to squash some of the launch-day bugs, particularly the performance issues some of you were seeing in Level 7.

This patch is all about stability, performance, and giving you more control over how the game runs.

🔦 The "Laggy Torch" Fix

We heard you—the torch was doing a bit too much "math" and was killing the frame rate on certain setups. We’ve completely re-engineered the lighting logic.

  • Shadow Optimization: Torch shadows are now tied directly to your quality settings. If you’re struggling with FPS, dropping to "Very Low" will now disable torch shadows entirely, giving you a massive performance boost without losing the light you need to survive.

  • Level 7 Lighting: We’ve baked the ambient lights in the dungeon to reduce GPU overhead by nearly 40%.

🖥️ New Graphics & Volume Controls

The Options menu has been rebuilt from the ground up to be more reliable.

  • Graphics CyclerNo more messy dropdowns. You can now cycle through quality presets (Very Low to Ultra) with the new arrow system.
  • Master Volume Slider: You finally have a master volume slider with percentage feedback. No more being blasted by the intro music!

  • UI StabilityFixed a critical bug where the Options menu would soft-lock or fail to open. Navigation should now be smooth and responsive.

🐛 Bug Fixes & Polish

  • Camera ConflictsResolved an issue where the main menu camera would conflict with the player camera, causing the UI to break.
  • Mouse InputFixed an edge case where the cursor would remain locked or invisible when returning to the main menu.
  • Level Loading: Streamlined the transition between the IntroScene and the main game to prevent hanging on black screens.

We’re just getting started. If you find any more weirdness, keep the reports coming in the Discord or the Steam forums.

Now, get back in there. Level 7 is waiting.
