v1.0.3 is officially live. We wanted to bring you a quick update to fix some "quality-of-life" issues with the game - as well as to bring some small balance adjustments and bug fixes.
Note that you may need to restart your Steam client to see the update.
POISON MINI-EXPANSION
While the focus of this update was on quality-of-life improvements, we wanted to add a few new characters to keep things fresh and to lay the foundation for future updates.
New Characters
ROGUE (L1 Gnome Fighter) 1 D / 3 HP / 6 S Poisonous. Inexhaustible.
ROGUE (L2 Gnome Fighter) 2 D / 5 HP / 6 S Poisonous. Inexhaustible.
ROGUE (L3 Gnome Fighter) 3 D / 7 HP / 6 S Poisonous. Inexhaustible.
VENIN WITCH (L2 Human Mage) 2 D / 4 HP / 2 S Deals double damage against Poisoned characters.
VENIN WITCH (L3 Human Mage) 3 D / 5 HP / 2 S Deals double damage against Poisoned characters.
New Relics
Pure Venin. Enemies take +1 damage from poison.
Venina's Hex. Battle Start: Poison a random enemy.
...plus a new bonus objective!
QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS
You can now sell equipment. We've changed the flow for selling equipment and characters. Note that this also allows you to sell unwanted Potions of Experience.
Faster battles. You can now speed up battles even more with "5x" fast forward. Still not fast enough? We've added an option in the settings menu to skip Battle Banners to speed up battles even more.
Multiple unlocks. After finishing a run you can now unlock multiple new characters (if your score is high enough).
Fewer frustrating situations for summon builds. We've done a lot of tweaks to make fewer situations that frustrate summoning. Bonus objectives and hazard rooms have been updated to clog up your board less. The Druid now summons at the end of the first round to give you more control over your board. Finally we've tweaked the logic for the Essence Collector and Spirit Shackles artifacts so that they will always summon (so long as there's board space). That said, board-space management is still a critical part of the summon comp!
CHARACTER BALANCE CHANGES
The Armorsmith now gives +2/3/4 Armor (was previously +2/4/6).
The Druid now summons at the end of the first round, rather than the start of each battle.
Elder Gryx now has 7 HP (was previously 9 HP) and is no longer Inexhaustible.
Marianna now has 2 Attack.
OTHER BALANCE CHANGES
Encounters in The Upper Dungeon now have more board layout variations.
Blood Wisps no longer injure themselves after attacking. Blood Wisps are now simply 1/1 Elementals.
The Hand of Abaddon now gains +1 Attack whenever an ally dies.
Simulae Prime now starts with 1 Attack.
The Reanimated Colossus now has 16 HP (was previously 18 HP).
Armored gloves now give +1 HP and +1 Armor at the start of battle (previously gave +2 HP).
The Potion of Experience now costs 3 Gold (was previously 2 Gold) and the Potion of Mastery now costs 8 Gold (was previously 5 Gold).
Flit Fetterbite now has 6 HP (was previously 8 HP).
BUG FIXES
Characters keep extra XP when leveling up.
All Wisps are now correctly Elemental type.
The first battle in The Underneath and The Abyss will now always contain a
