Defencor

This is the backbone of Earth’s heavy infantry. It will break through any defense and help you suppress even the most heavily fortified enemy firing positions, while its armor easily absorbs light and medium-intensity attacks. Every Defencor carries a bayonet for close combat and a large-caliber shotgun to suppress enemies at medium range.

This class is only effective in the front lines, as it attacks only the row directly in front of it! It deals less damage than dedicated attackers and may slow down level progression slightly, but it fulfills its role as a tank perfectly.

The hero has a higher amount of health and armor, as well as numerous crowd control abilities, ranging from knockdowns to taunts. His bayonet attacks can ignore enemy armor, and with this arsenal, the hero can be an extremely valuable team member. The “Protect Your Own” ability can redirect some of an ally’s damage to Defencor, which will save your teammates on more than one occasion, so don’t overlook this unique ability.

The “Taunt” effect, which falls under the crowd control category, deserves special mention. With sufficient skill level, it can be stacked on enemies so that it lasts for several rounds. This allows you to protect allies who are in critical condition. Thus, the Defencor character not only boasts high survivability but also possesses a wide range of defensive abilities for his allies.

Legionnaire

The Legionnaire is the elite of the heavy infantry. Many heavy infantrymen dream of joining this unit, but only a select few succeed. The thing is, the requirements for candidates are extremely strict.

However, successful candidates are rewarded with opportunities worth striving for - Legionnaires are granted access to the latest models of armor and weapons. That’s why new Legionnaires feel like kids in a candy store when they’re in the heat of battle.

The Legionnaire is a logical evolution of the Defencor. Their abilities have been further developed and have become more effective. Additionally, the class has learned to repair its own armor using the “Steel Fortress” ability. It doesn’t do this as effectively as a Technician, but sometimes that’s enough to “hold the line.”

At level 10, epic items with health bonuses for heavy armor become available, and now the difference between heavy infantry and other heroes becomes increasingly significant.

The “Super-Powered Shotgun” ability finally allows him to hit rear targets, dealing damage across the entire enemy line. This lets him bait targets from the rear, making battlefield control even more effective.

And, of course, it’s worth noting that due to his low speed, the hero typically moves second-to-last in the team. This makes him the initiator of combos, and thanks to the new passive talent “Direct Support,” he has a chance to apply taunt to enemies right in the middle of a combo attack!

Ignifer

If you need more damage but aren’t ready to give up a tank in the front line, Ignifer is the choice for you! His armor is exceptionally durable, forged from multiple layers, it can withstand temperatures so high that most soldiers would be reduced to a handful of ashes.

And to make sure enemies don’t freeze, every Ignifer is armed with a next-generation plasma flamethrower.

This hero is also unique in that he loses a good half of his old Defencor abilities, since he no longer uses a shotgun. However, he more than makes up for this shortcoming with his flamethrower!

When properly leveled, the “Assault Flamethrower” ability allows him to deal damage in a line, hitting enemies from behind. Combined with the “Wall of Fire” and “Imperium Ignis” abilities, the hero becomes a powerful AoE dealer, as no vile creature can hide from his fire!

As if that weren’t enough, the hero can literally detonate all accumulated fire effects on enemies, dealing a massive amount of damage to those vile creatures!

Ever dreamed of roasting bugs with a flamethrower? Go ahead and throw Ignifer right into the thick of battle, and let the heat rise! Or better yet, throw in two - or three.

Centurio

These mechs were deemed too expensive for the army, and plans for mass production were scrapped. However, here is the Centurio, which means they are still being produced. Who provided the funding for this? That remains unknown.

Steam post imageThe Centurio combat mech is the very embodiment of power. The mere sight of this mech can send an unlucky enemy fleeing. This gigantic steel titan, whose imposing size commands attention, is less maneuverable and suffers penalties to its Alertness and Evasion stats. But all of this is compensated for by the new “External Armor” inventory slot, which allows for a significant increase in armor stats.

The Centurio specializes in enemy control and survivability, and to that end, it has a wide arsenal of new abilities.

For example, the hero can go into a defensive stance using the Quantum Shield. The effect blocks the hero from taking any damage, thereby further increasing his survivability. The “Shoulder Cannon” ability allows him to deal serious damage to already stunned targets and even ignore armor!

Like the others, the Centurion has its own unique mechanic around which the “game is built.” The hero gains additional resistance to all crowd control effects based on the amount of armor the hero has. The more armor, the stronger the mech.

Players should make sure to perform timely maintenance, and then the machine will never let its owner down!

Phoenix

All the cutting-edge developments from Earth’s leading research laboratories went into creating this machine. Its frontal armor is so sturdy that it can easily withstand a large-caliber shell, and the operator inside won’t even spill a drop of coffee.

Steam post imageEach Phoenix is one-of-a-kind, and the weapons mounted on it are classified. How great that we have several of these machines on our ship!

One of the lucky owners of this machine is Colonel Grom, so you’ve surely encountered "his precious” during the battle against the Queen of the First Hive.

The vehicle comes equipped with the “Fire Shield” module, which sets ablaze the vile creatures bold enough to engage the Phoenix in close combat. That’s exactly why the Phoenix is simply born for vanguard tactics!

And let’s not forget the provocation mechanic, which works perfectly with the “Fire Shield.” It’s a whole art form in itself - making a creature attack you and watching as it gradually burns to death from its own attacks!

The unique “Fiery Brand” effect lets you do all sorts of nasty things to the local fauna, leaving only a handful of ashes behind. Just bring at least one Phoenix with you, and you’ll see the temperature around you rise, while enemies start disappearing! Want to play as steel giants? Add Centurio and Phoenix to your squad!
