Attention, citizens of Haven,
Today, we are rolling out a big change that we believe will enhance SunderBound with an additional strategic gameplay layer. Along with a list of new fixes and balancing updates, we are implementing a new mechanic: limited ammo.
Thank you all, once again, for your support during the playtest! Expect one more major gameplay update planned for this month, before the holidays, when we will add a bit more adversity your way.
Limited Ammo System
Each player's gun has a limited ammo reserve.
Weapon melee attack restores ammo on kill, indicated by a VFX.
Player characters can open ammo chests scattered around the levels to fill their ammo.
Co-op ability (High Five) fills up all ammo.
Our vision for SunderBound’s gameplay includes cooperation, tactical thinking, and dynamically shifting between shooting, melee, and abilities, but we found that players often defaulted to shooting on sight. To encourage more varied gameplay and add an additional layer of depth, we added limited ammo to each weapon in the game for each player’s arsenal.
Each character will now have a finite number of bullets to work with and must use their abilities to restore ammo or scavenge it from various stashes across Haven. We hope that this change will encourage players to be more resourceful and to consider other combat alternatives like melee attacks and ‘High-Fives’ more often.
With this in mind, we will closely follow your feedback on this update. Let us know how the changes feel for you in the comments or on our Discord server!

Bugfixes to known issues
Fixed “A fog that persists for about 5 seconds at the start of a variant of a procedurally generated level.”
Fixed gamepad navigation in the Talents menu, Main Menu focus issues, and flickering keybindings icons.
Known Issues
Expect a lot of incoming UI/UX improvements, better co-op camera, and more updates to the cooperative experience that will suit Player 2 in particular.
A lot of the input prompt icons have to be adapted for the gamepad.
Expect better tutorialized screens on the advanced game mechanics, such as perk selection, submission selection, and encounters.
We’re investigating occasional FPS drops on lower spec machines and in specific levels.
After closing the game amidst a mission, there are some issues with the state of the save file.
Very rarely, there are some navigation issues with the debris of destroyed objects. On some quite unlucky occasions, those might throw a player’s character off the map.
Font and text alignment issues in the Main Menu text labels, and resolution issues on some screens.
