Today's patch focusses on fixing gameplay option bugs and easing the difficulty curve in the latter half of the desert campaign.
Bug Fixes: - Fixes a bug where sounds were being cut off prematurely while being played. - Fixed a bug where ambient background sounds were not playing properly. - Fixed a bug where global sound options were not applying to some button press sounds and some effect sounds. - Fixes a bug where key mapping changes were not being saved once the game quit. - Fixes odd behavior with the Optical Enhancement ability that would cause the game to hang for a few seconds. - Fixes unusual navigation behavior in campaign 6.
New Content: - Added the Veteran Mutant unit in early campaign levels.
Game Balance: - Moved several of the stronger creatures such as Ripper Dogs, Grunts and Grunt Heavy Gunners to later in the campaign to ease spike in difficulty at campaign levels 7 to 12. - Reduced number of portals in campaign levels 7 - 12. - Replaced several stronger units in campaign 7, 9 and 11 with the Veteran Mutant unit. - Increased effect of Personal Cloak ability to +45 evasion. - Psychic Death Scream ability now only hurts aliens and not humans. - Increased move speed of Bastion Male class.
