Hello, this is the Soultrigger development team.

Based on the feedback you've shared since launch, we've redesigned the core structure of the game from the ground up.

This is less a patch and more a near-complete reimagining of Soultrigger.

⚠️ Important Notice This update fundamentally changes the structure of the game.

Existing save data is not compatible, and a new playthrough is required.

Expedition System — Roguelite Progression

We've moved away from the previous "clear a zone, return to base" loop and rebuilt progression around an Act-based expedition system.

  • Travel through multiple zones in a single expedition

  • Upgrades earned during an expedition carry over throughout the run

  • Defeat the boss in the final zone to clear a chapter

Trait System — The Heart of Your Build

Combat rewards have been completely overhauled from a currency-based system to a trait selection mechanic. 111 traits have been added, each scaling through up to 5 levels.

  • Choose 1 of 3 trait cards after each battle

  • Cards are drawn from a single unified pool containing character, skill, and tag-specific traits

  • Drawing a trait you already own levels it up instead of duplicating

  • Effects accumulate and persist throughout the entire expedition (run)

Four Categories

  • Common Traits (8) — apply to the entire party

  • Character-Exclusive Traits (Harang 22 · Siu 16 · Valentin 18 · Lok 18) — trigger on every skill the equipped character uses

  • Skill-Specific Traits (80) — alter the damage, behavior, or range of individual skills

  • Tag Traits (13 tags) — bundled by concept, such as [c]#SHOT[/c], [c]#BRAWL[/c], [c]#EVADE[/c], and more

Traits range from straightforward stat boosts to variations that fundamentally change how a skill behaves — for example, the Flame Trail trait leaves a burning path behind your slide that damages enemies over time, turning the same skill into a completely different tool depending on the build you assemble.

Story & Presentation

  • Trimmed unnecessary dialogue, refocused presentation on key moments

  • Context-aware dialogue branching powered by a priority-queue trigger system

UI / UX Improvements

  • Portals now display information about the next room

  • Improved readability of the hub's Danger Zone UI

  • Overall interface made more user-friendly

This 2.0 update is a large-scale overhaul aimed at making Soultrigger a game you'll want to play again and again.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us — we hope to see you in the new Soultrigger.

As always, please share your thoughts on the changes in our Community Hub.

Thank you.
