Snemovna changes
Ahoj! Snemovna brings you the significant and terrifying update 0.7, primarily focused on characters and horror atmosphere. However, there are still some minor issues that will be fixed within a week.
Main Horror
3D characters and their animations. Basic implementation.
Jumpscare and its first version. Variations are coming, and hopefully some voice lines as well.
Various combinations of political enemies walking around and their activation order. Every game is different now.
Enemy behavior changed. They can become alert when a player approaches.
Added a new character with a new type of behavior. A mysterious man with a pendulum.
New ways of alerting the player to approaching danger, both with a flashlight and sound.
Modified the system of the enemy capturing the player. The player will no longer get stuck in walls (clipping) outside the game world.
Added new sound ambiences to enhance the game atmosphere.
Secondary Horror
Added more baked lights to the game space.
Changed the game speed. The player is slower in movement, and the effectiveness of the Bread with Cutlet item has been reduced. This was done primarily to support game dynamics and reduce the absurd player speed that was present.
The player's stamina and jump intensity have also been reduced. However, this can be improved with game items that support these attributes.
The player's footsteps and various item sounds are less loud. It must have been painful to the ears.
The malfunctioning Vignette effect has been fixed.
The sound of walking has been added for normal kneeling. It did not work properly before.
Premature door closure will no longer be such a nuisance. Occlusion Culling should work better.
The Ukrainian flag item should now work correctly only for Mr. Okamura.
The update is quite extensive and part of the current three-act horror plan. It focused on introducing 3D characters and an updated horror atmosphere. Development will now focus on other important aspects before the game can be considered complete. This includes adding lines of dialogue and its full-fledged system that will entertain and scare players as it should. And the final chapter will be an upgrade of the environment - with new rooms, corridors, references, specific points of interest, parkour challenges, Easter eggs, and so on.
Once this holy trinity is complete, the game will be nearing its finale. Here, we will be preparing new game modes, characters, items, improved UI, clearer optimizations, and a better gaming experience. That's all for now. The plan for March and April is clear. So hopefully April or May will be the month of the game's full release, if everything goes according to plan.
