As usual, we're bringing some information about the first playtest of this year! We were really excited to finally show you what we've been doing with the Skill Trees, Mimics, the Spellbook and Crossbow weapons, and the beginning of our Quests system! It's always a delight to watch you play (and thoroughly BREAK) our game! We also enjoy watching you discuss and speculate about the future of Shadows of Chroma Tower, show us you care, love and are concerned about what we are doing. Thank you so much for everything!
A FEW NUMBERS
Here are some interesting (and successful!) numbers from the period during the playtest.
We had 10.656 players during the playtest! A new record for us!
For a while our servers had 408 players at the same time (also a new record!)
Average playtime was around 4 hours
50% of players played between 1-2 hours!
And 110 of you crazies playing over 33 hours! You know who you are!
FOR A FEW NUMBERS MORE
A bit more stuff, some meta and some curiosities.
Most played class: Weaver
It comes with no surprise, really. Not only the Weaver was quite broken, but it also had one of the most fun weapons with the Spellbook. We're glad you enjoyed the invincible Weaver while you could. :weaverhat:
We had a total of 87.000 extractions from the Tower
90% were brand new players. Welcome to Chroma Tower!
+500 members on our Discord since the playtest announcement!
+90 hours of Twitch lives! Thank you for everyone who streamed (and everyone who watched too!) and helped sharing our game!
99% of players had at least one Mimic jumpscare (not really, but it was fun to watch you find out all the Mimics we hid through the game)
THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE BROKEN
A few crash reports we need to analyze and fix (some are already fixed!)
Around 25 bugs we are already working on
3 bugs we have no idea how to reproduce omg
And a bunch of balancing, feedback, UI and UX stuff we need to improve.
SO WHAT'S NEXT?
Besides fixing what we observed during the playtest, improving what we already knew we needed to change and filtering your feedback into actual work, we are planning our next moves so you can have more Shadows of Chroma Tower on our next playtest! Some of it are:
Invoker Skill Tree (as you are probably aware)
New visual options for characters
Improved Quest System and new quests
New maps for Titan's Folly and improvements on overall level design for the Monastery
New challenges for the Archmage's Lair
And a few more things here and there
Again, thank you so much for playing and staying with us! See you in the next playtest, hopefully sooner than later! Steam post image
