Sellsword Tales Prologue changes
t’s time to summarize the progress since the March. A lot has been accomplished!
The "House of Pleasures" storyline begins with the Task Board📋
I've finished the visuals for the Task board.
Available quests now show their type (conversation, combat, search, etc.) and the expected danger level (marked with a red symbol).
Clicking on a quest lets the player read the full description, accept it, or decline.
Parameters on the left:
City level and stability
Tabitha’s fame
Adventurer rank
Leveling up these parameters will affect the number of available quests, their difficulty, reward value, prices and assortment in shops, and much more.
Introducing this mechanic wouldn’t be complete without a sensual reward!
Location: Small Fountain Square⛲
A neat but quiet part of the city is mainly a transit zone between the riverbanks for ordinary folk. Despite the economic troubles, several shops restock their stalls every morning. Here you can buy everyday necessities or treat yourself to fresh pastries and beautiful outfits.
The new location not only grants access to new merchants, but will also serve as the setting for Task Board quests and branching storylines in the House of Pleasures.
(Both the H-scene and the location are fully drawn and ready for animation).
Lust Mechanic 🍑
For now, I’ve capped the maximum value at 99 (something special is planned for reaching Lust level 100, but it’s not ready yet).
Starting Character Setup💄
In next update player will be able to customize the protagonist’s dialogue model appearance right from the beginning of the game! The full starting setup will be freely available in the inventory.
I've received a lot of feedback that the combat system feels either too simple or too complicated for some players. While monster stats do vary within certain ranges, the main reason for the difference in perception was the random stats on Tabitha’s armor.
Now at the start of the game you’ll be able to choose from three preset sets, each with its own strengths and weaknesses.

Orux route
After I've upgraded Tabitha’s model and added a ton of new lewd animations, I've decided to expand one of the combat defeat scenarios and turn it into a full-fledged story using those animations.
Now, losing to the orux is no longer just a couple of scattered H-scenes, it has become a nearly complete story with multiple endings.
More about the plot 📜
The warrior ends up in the Orux Grove, a dangerous place where young maidens lose themselves in an abyss of pleasure.
“Orux is an artificially created parasitic plant. It uses other living bodies for reproduction. It especially favors sentient species, such as humans. The plant clouds its victims’ minds with a special gas, awakening their hottest fantasies and desires. If the victim gives in to the grove’s influence, orux gradually transforms her body and, in the end, completely absorbs her.”
So, if Tabitha fails to escape in time, she risks merging in ecstasy with the dangerous plant.
If the warrior tries to escape, she can team up with Mara, who is also a prisoner in the camp.

Route Summary:
The original idea has grown into a full story of ~23,000 words! The plot includes not only dialogues, but also the new"Arena" variant of the "Search" mini-game, where instead of gathering clues, you’ll need to defeat enemies.
I'm preparing 4 main branches. Each of them will include variations based on, for example, stat check results.
I'm keeping several escape options, offering both almost completely pure versions and very lewd ones. Some choices will require a higher Lust level.
Code⚙️
Added icons to dialogue choices (quests, H-scenes, trading, etc.).
Choices that involve stat or reputation checks will now be highlighted in the dialogue, and the result will be displayed in the dialogue log.
The text has been finalized and is now being implemented in the game. All dialogue JSON files have been set up and thoroughly checked, and every quest now has proper rewards.
Added a skin/combination system. I can now mix different clothing items, appearance details, and color palettes for specific parts of Tabitha. In the future, this mechanic will be expanded to other characters as well.
There were some scaling issues with H-scenes after switching to Spine 4.3, but everything has been fixed.
Fixed several annoying bugs:
A dialogue bug in the Orux camp that caused a softlock.
A visual bug in trading that incorrectly counted unselected items.
Added an in-game bug report panel. Players can now send bug reports directly from the game (if they have an internet connection).
The original idea of using Tabitha’s new dialogue animations has grown into a large story segment, complete with lewd artwork and even a new version of the mini-game.
Work on the Orux Grove is nearing completion. After that, I’ll return to the House of Pleasures.
