Hi everyone, Jay and team here!

THE SEASONING UPDATE IS FINALLY HERE!

Thank you so much for your patience -- the update that all of us have been waiting for is here!

Our team has spent the past few weeks refining and improving SEDAP! to bring you a new and improved game experience. This update tackles key player feedback received since its release in May, introducing four major highlights: an in-game map, selectable difficulty modes, new Charms, and the Bestiary!

Also, along with the update, we’ve added Steam community items! Collect trading cards, badges, profile backgrounds, and emoticons when you play SEDAP! on Steam.

Without further ado, here are the (very looong) patch notes for v1.1.

The Seasoning Update (v1.1)

For a quick overview of this update, you may watch this 2-minute video.

Highlights

In-Game Map

  • The new in-game map helps players with navigating larger levels -- a quick toggle shows an aerial view of the level, denoting player locations, and ingredient spawns with respawn timers.

  • Toggle the map on and off any time during a level by using "Tab" for keyboard controls, and "Left Shoulder/LB" for controllers. For local multiplayer players using a shared keyboard, the toggle button would be "V" and "," (default controls).

Herb Mode/Spice Mode

  • For players who prefer a more casual experience, Herb Mode is a new difficulty setting in the game, where damage taken, monster HP, dish freshness and order timing depletions are greatly reduced.

  • Players can toggle between the two modes at the start of the game, and in the game’s settings while in the Camp.

  • However, please note that you will only be able to earn Pink Stars in Spice Mode, the game’s standard difficulty.

Four New Charms

  • Refresh your adventure with four brand new Charms and an increased Charm carry limit!

    • Jade Earrings: Player attacks will no longer be interrupted by incoming attacks.

      • Unlocked after beating 02-03

    • Five Stones: Prevents Combo Streak from expiring.

      • Unlocked after beating 02-07

    • Yadom: Slows the rate of food going bad by 25%.

      • Unlocked after beating 02-SP

    • Kerosang: Grants a 2x Combo Streak at the start of the level.

      • Unlocked after beating 03-SP

The Bestiary

  • The Bestiary is a new chapter of the Makanomicon featuring brand new artwork, names, and detailed descriptions of the Monsters you’ll encounter.

  • Just like dishes, Bestiary pages unlock only after encountering the monsters.

Patch Notes

Important Notice

  • Please note that with the addition of the in-game map toggle and certain input-related bug fixes, keyboard and controller re-bindings have been reset to default to prevent overlapping bindings. We're sorry for any inconvenience!

Content Updates

  • Dakila now has new dialogue lines when purchasing from the Shop.

  • Merapi's Radio is now accessible from the Camp -- you may now yap with her!

Balancing

General

  • [Single-player] [Standard Levels] Increased Combo Streak length (+10s)

  • [Single-player] [Spirit Trial Levels] Increased Combo Streak length (+30s)

  • Decreased the rate of food decay.

  • Increased the critical rate boost at Combo Streak x7

  • Decreased the difficulty of the fishing minigame when catching Squid

  • Increased the Mountains' Falling Steps waiting time before it falls (1s -> 1.25s)

  • Increased the collider sizes of Falling Steps

Charms/Loadout

  • Increased the carry-on weight limit of Charms (5 -> 7)

  • Increased the weight cost of the damage Charms, Gilded Mask and Non La (+1)

  • Decreased the Rusted Blade's charging speed buff (100% -> 42%)

  • Revised the unlock levels for certain Weapons, Utensils, and Charms. Previously purchased equipment remains unaffected.

    • In light of the newly-added Charms and balancing changes, the unlock levels for Charms in the Beach and Mountains have been adjusted.

    • 2-star Spatula and Parang can now be unlocked earlier in the game, after beating 01-05.

    • 3-star Ngao, Sibat, Celurit and Chopsticks can now be unlocked earlier in the game, after beating 03-02.

Utensils

  • Decreased charging time for Utensils. The only exception to this is the Frying Pan, to allow players to check the cast range before casting.

  • Chopsticks

    • 2-star now freezes all Order timers for 30 seconds

    • 3-star charged ability now restores only 30 seconds to the Order time, but also freezes them for 30 seconds

Monsters

  • Reduced Crab Critter spawns in 02-BOSS

  • Reduced the wake-up immunity time of Ginger Ghost (1s -> 0.4s)

  • Decreased the movement speed of the Bandito

  • Bandito’s random drops upon defeat no longer include ingredients from auto-producing Kitchenware, namely Milk, Noodles, or Rice.

Kitchenware

  • Oven

    • Increased the speed of the cooking minigame

    • Previously, the two required inputs for the cooking minigame could appear as a single block, which confused players. They are now clearly separated with a gap.

  • Tumpeng Altar

    • Slightly increased the hit window for the Wok and Pot cooking minigames.

Achievements

  • [Online Multiplayer] Fixed an achievement,"I'll Go If You Go", not being correctly unlocked.

  • Shifted some visually-awkward environment assets and fixed floating assets in some levels.

  • Increased the visual intensity of the stink cloud VFX on Kitchenware containing stinky food.

  • Increased the size of Chinese and Japanese characters in the Loadout and Shop.

  • General improvements to auto-sizing of text across languages, preventing overflows.

Quality-of-Life (QoL)

  • (!!) Freshness indicators for Kitchenware have a new look, with icons and a clearer display. We've also extended having these Freshness indicators to food.

  • In 01-04, the big tree trunk now fades-out when players move behind it.

Feedback

  • [Single-player] Players now get visual and audio cues when swapping characters.

  • New visual and audio cue whenever the Bandito appears in a level.

  • New visual and audio cue whenever the Cleaver’s charged ability is about to time out.

  • New visual cue to indicate the hit-ready moment for the Steamer's cooking minigame.

  • New audio cue to indicate the hit-ready moment for Fishing Cone, Steamer, and Supper Showdown minigames.
