Patch 1.7.8 is now live!
This update focuses primarily on expanding and improving Survivor Stories, alongside several UI improvements, gameplay adjustments, and new Steam Achievements for the Main Campaign.
Survivor Stories Updates
Implemented Enemy Health Bars Health bars now display over all enemies.
Optimized lighting throughout the map.
Added Unrefined Gunpowder to the Fabricator, item pool, and Recycler.
Fully overhauled and implemented the new 2.0 Survivor Stories Shop for a smoother and improved shopping experience.
Added Inventory Increase as a new Shop Upgrade option.
Added Laser Sight as a new Shop Upgrade option.
Implemented the new Mystery Item Locker. Requires a Lockpick to open and rewards the player with a randomized item after a short animation sequence.
Updated and revised the Survivor Stories Tutorial Document.
Did a localization pass over the survivor stories content.
Enemy Spawn Adjustments
Added additional T1 enemy spawns outside.
T2 enemies will now begin spawning in the cellar after killing Eli.
Added additional T2 enemy spawns upstairs after killing Eli.
Achievements & Challenge Updates
Added 8 new Steam Achievements to the Main Campaign.
Updated the Challenges Menu to support and display the new achievements.
UI Updates & Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where selecting an item with the mouse while not having enough Blood Shards could softlock the game in the Survivor Stories Shop.
Increased the selection glow on the Main Menu Character Selection screen.
Fixed an issue where clicking Back with the mouse on the Survivor Stories Character Selection screen would incorrectly display the Survivor Stories Info button.
Fixed an issue where clicking a character name with the mouse on the Survivor Stories Character Selection screen could occasionally start Survivor Stories with the incorrect character selected.

Offer Statue UI
Pause Menu UI
Journal UI
Inventory UI
Storage UI
Files UI
Overhauled Item Pickup text animations internally for improved consistency and localization support.
This also fixes:
Certain text animations not being localized correctly.
Some pickup animations failing to play after collecting dropped items.
Overlapping pickup text animations when collecting multiple items from locked containers.
Localized the Crossbow weapon pickup text animation.
Added a Controller Disconnected message while in-game. The game will now automatically pause if a controller or joystick disconnects.
Added map indicators for:
Empty Jerrycan
Empty Lighter
These indicators are removed once the items are collected.
Fixed mouse highlight states occasionally displaying multiple highlighted UI elements at once.
Fixed an issue where highlighting the Inventory Weapon Slot would not update the item’s name and description until unequipping it.
Fixed an issue where the medical containers in the Sewers would not remain open after reloading the scene.
Updated the Farm localized Fabricator Manual to clarify that all Fabricator usernames and passwords are always written in English.
Added 5/12:
Updated the Pause Menu SwitchUI behavior in addition to the new mouse feedback detection improvements.
When switched to Controller, the mouse cursor will now automatically hide. When switched back to Keyboard + Mouse, the cursor will become visible again whenever interactive UI elements are present on screen.
Known Issue
There is currently a known issue specific to Modern Mode during the Dillon boss fight. If the player is positioned at the bottom of the stairs, shots aimed at Dillon may not register until the player moves approximately halfway up the staircase.
This issue is actively being investigated and a hotfix will be released as soon as possible.
