🔥 New Feature Update: Temperature System Added

Hello everyone,

I’d like to share what’s new in the development of Rural!

We’ve added a seasonal temperature system to the game.

Temperature now changes throughout the year, and each season affects daily life on your homestead. Colder weather makes outdoor work more demanding and increases energy and hunger drain, giving real meaning to preparation and long-term planning.

Why store wood, hay, and supplies during the warm seasons if you could gather them just as easily all year round? Now, preparation truly matters. A well-organized homestead allows you to work smarter and stay comfortable when conditions become harsher.

The goal is not to punish the player, but to make self-sufficiency feel meaningful — planning ahead, managing resources, and building a life that can sustain itself through every season.

Here in Romania, we have a saying:

“A good homesteader builds his sledge in the summer and his cart in the winter.”

That philosophy is at the heart of Rural: preparation, balance, and the satisfaction of living off the land.

More features and improvements are coming soon as development continues.

❤️ If you’d like to support the project and follow development, please consider adding Rural to your wishlist — it helps the game grow more than you might think.

Thank you for being part of the journey!

— The Rural team (a family-made indie game)
