Run or Rot: ZK1L4 changes
ZK1L4 v2.2 is here: and it’s one of the biggest updates so far.
This update brings elite enemies, dynamic run modifiers, deeper combat, and major polish to both solo and couch co-op play.
🧟 New Elite: Golden Sir
A rare high-value zombie has entered the battlefield.
Golden Sir:
Drops large amounts of gold
Spawns with an escort of zombies
Switches between fleeing and attacking
Can suddenly burst into a high-speed sprint
If you see him, hunt him. If you hear him, chase him.
🎯 Run Goals & 🧬 Run Mutations
Every run is now more dynamic.
You’ll encounter:
Run Goals that reward XP, healing, gold, or skill upgrades
Run Mutations that change how zombies behave (more enemies, faster hordes, glass-cannon waves, tanky mobs, and more)
No two runs will feel the same.
⚔️ Combat & Enemy Upgrades
Zombies now use proper collision bodies
Enemies feel more physical and aggressive
Improved pathing and stuck recovery
Elite enemies are more dramatic and threatening
Special zombies announce their arrival with on-screen messages
The battlefield feels alive — and dangerous.
🎮 Couch Co-op Improvements
Player 2 now receives full UI feedback
XP and gold scaling is balanced for co-op
Controller detection and UI switching improved
Vibration, messages, and pickups feel better for both players
🎨 Visual & Audio Overhaul
Cleaner sprites and better readability
Improved contrast and clarity
New elite and loot visual effects
XP and SFX audio tuned to avoid noise spam
🛠️ Fixes & Stability
Fixed enemies spawning on top of each other
Fixed physics explosions and flying zombies
Improved performance and reliability
Multiple UI and controller fixes
