Hi,

I am happy to announce that Patch 0.5 is now available! It took a bit longer than planned as I was sick - now that I have mostly recovered, I am slowly catching up.

Guarantee Defense and Deter Aggression

  • The Protection treaty has been removed and replaced with Guaranteeing Defense and Deterring Aggression. These new agreements do not use diplomats.

  • Guaranteeing Defense requires us to join their defensive war if they are attacked. This increases their attitude toward us by 50.

  • Deterring Aggression requires us to join the defender if they attack another province. This increases our prestige by 10% (20% if they are our rival).

Diplomatic Distance and Range

  • Diplomatic distance is the shortest distance between our province and another province's capital.

  • Declaring wars, signing diplomatic treaties, and demanding tiles can only be done with provinces within our diplomatic range.

  • Diplomatic range has a base value of 10 and can be increased through research.

War Monthly Military Point Change

  • The War Monthly Military Point cost used to be 5 per tile. It is now 1 per tile, but increases by 1 per tile every year (e.g., 1 in the first year, 2 in the second year, etc.).

Plunder War Tiles

  • You can plunder war tiles during a war, reducing the required war score, but this also reduces tile upgrades if you later conquer those tiles.

Revamped Client

  • Client provinces now contribute 10% of their monthly revenue as tribute to their patron.

  • A patron can summon the client's governor, increasing the patron's prestige by 10% and decreasing the client's prestige by 10%.

  • A patron can request military aid from a client, increasing the patron's war power by 10% and decreasing the client's prestige by 10%.

Governor and Advisor Traits

  • Every 10 years, the governor and each family member acquire a new trait. Traits provide bonuses (e.g., Robust: +2% Manpower; Distinguished: +2% Prestige; Bold: +2% War Power). Only the governor's traits are active.

  • Advisors now have traits as well. Level 1 advisors have 1 trait, level 2 advisors have 2 traits, etc.

Revamped Mission System

  • The old mission system was linear and acted like an extended tutorial. It became inflexible after rebirth.

  • The new mission system is more like EU4's mission tree: less linear, with many missions not requiring prerequisites.

  • This allows players to pursue their own strategies and complete missions at their own pace.

QoL

  • Popups can now be dismissed by clicking outside them (ESC still works).

  • The tutorial panel can now be collapsed (Settings → Tutorial → Collapse Tutorial Panel).

  • Added a todo reminder when the army general position is vacant.

  • Added a todo reminder when the army general can be upgraded.
