Raiders of Blackveil changes
The Fangs and Faith Update Has Arrived!
Hello Raiders!
Today marks the release of one of our biggest updates since launching into Early Access, and we're incredibly excited to finally share it with you.
The Fangs and Faith Update brings together some of the most requested quality of life improvements we've been working on alongside a wave of new content. Whether you're jumping in to try Reconnect & Save & Exit, meeting our two newest champions Foxley and Valora, hunting down brand new Unique Equipment, or experimenting with one of our largest balance passes yet, there's plenty waiting for you in this update.
Every major update is another step toward the vision we have for Raiders of Blackveil, and today's release is no exception. We're excited to see the new builds you'll discover, the champions you'll master, and, of course, the feedback you'll have once you've had a chance to jump in.
Let's take a look at everything included in The Fangs and Faith Update.
Reconnect and Save & Exit!
Crashing or disconnecting in a roguelite sucks, and we couldn’t agree more.
That’s why we fast-tracked both Reconnect and Save & Exit as part of what we internally call Project Phoenix.
In singleplayer, you can now save and exit a run, then resume it later.
In multiplayer, you can now rejoin a session after crashing or disconnecting. Even if the host disconnects, they can rehost the session and clients can join back in.
This is still an early version, but we wanted to get it into your hands as soon as possible. We know there’s room to improve the system, and we plan to keep building on it. For now, we believe this will make a big difference.
Two new Champions join the rebellion!
Foxley
It’s time to introduce our first archer archetype: Foxley.
A gifted archer, Foxley abandoned his family as a child after discovering their loyalty to Blackveil. Armed with a magical bow, he controls the battlefield with frost magic and delivers devastating piercing attacks.
Of course Foxley comes with 11 initial Champion Talents!
Valora
Next up is our second support archetype: Valora, the paladin.
Hailing from the last monastery untouched by Blackveil’s corruption, Valora fled to join the rebellion after her spiritual mother died under mysterious circumstances.
Wielding a mighty hammer and abilities empowered by light, Valora brings a versatile kit capable of both offense and defense.
Valora also comes with her own set of 11 initial Champion Talents!
New Unique Equipment!
The hunt for unique equipment is a big part of Raiders of Blackveil, so we’re adding 10 new pieces in this update, with more to come in future updates.
These new items introduce fresh build options, exciting power fantasies, and probably a few broken perk and equipment combinations.
Good luck on the loot hunt!
Select a Specific Raid When Choosing Continue
We’re listening to your feedback, and this is part of our bigger vision for how raids are connected.
As a first step, when you complete a raid and choose to continue, you can now select which biome you want to tackle next.
Bug Fixes
Alongside the new content in this update, we've also addressed a handful of bugs and polish improvements.
Added missing multiplier tooltip to the Chain Lightning perk.
Fixed a NavMesh issue in the Meat Factory.
Fixed several text strings that hadn't been localized.
Fixed Blazing Volley not triggering during boss fights.
Balance Changes
This update also includes one of our biggest balance passes yet. Over the past few months we've been closely following community feedback, gameplay data, and some of the strongest builds emerging across Raiders of Blackveil.
Our goal isn't simply to make things harder. We want to encourage more build variety, create more meaningful choices, and keep every class feeling rewarding to play. So let's dive right into them!
Biome Length
We've seen plenty of feedback that some biomes can start to feel a little too long. This is our first step toward improving the overall pacing of a run while still keeping the action engaging.
Biomes have been slightly shortened overall.
Multiple waves now begin spawning earlier in each biome.
Individual arenas last a little longer while the overall biome takes less time to complete.
