So what changed in the Pumpkin Woods Demo 0.3.0 ?

Besides the addition of the new dynamic grass system, UI improvements, quality of life features and bug fixes, a well requested feature is now available: player can now pet all cats, even untamed ones! Steam post image Full Changelog Version 0.3.0 (Demo Version)

Gameplay

  • Added advanced dynamic grass system for each biome

  • Player can now pet all cats, even untamed ones!

  • Added persimmon tree and fruit in the Autumn biome (because who doesn't like persimmons?)

  • Player can now observe various objects on the map

  • Combat system revamped with more impact and timing logic

  • Upgraded the chopping/attack animations with a superior version

  • Increased density of resources and witch huts in all biomes

  • Upgraded the crouch animation, crouch movement is faster

  • NPC notes are no longer items, now they open directly upon interaction

  • Improved the NPC notes and added candles in their homes

  • Star wand / mysterious key scrolls will only be spawned once

  • Furniture and objects in huts and abandoned houses are now randomized

  • Changed items sold by NPCs for better progression

  • Added HP bars on animals and creatures

  • Added large points of interest icons to the map

  • Increased range of axes by 20%

  • Wolves have smaller cooldown between attacks

  • Improved flair of several item descriptions

  • Improved balance of broken cart items

  • Some rare items can now be sold at a higher price

  • Removed coins from NPC houses to avoid confusion about stealing

  • Improved the center of the maze

  • Game is now paused when mother's message is displayed

  • Player now starts with walking speed instead of running

  • Upgraded the magic broom particle trail vfx

UI Improvements

  • Upgraded UI for the player inventory / shop / crafting / read panels

  • Updated the main menu and loading panel backgrounds

  • Upgraded visuals of the progress bar in all destructibles

  • Added more hints to the loading panel

  • Upgraded the font in several panels

  • Minor UI fixes

Quality of Life Features

  • Added unstuck button in the pause menu

  • Camera no longer rotates while player is in build mode

  • Added confirmation screen in the pause menu to avoid losing progress

  • Player can now toggle on/off the controls for better screenshots

  • The game now launches at the largest 16:9 resolution available

  • Added button tooltips for flight controls

  • Added feedback form

Demo Specific Changes

  • Removed invisible walls and locked biomes from the demo map

  • Replaced the Enchanted Forest with the Autumn biome in this version

Performance

  • Improved game performance by reducing the number of draw calls

  • Generating a new world is now less resource intensive

  • Greatly increased reliability and performance of the world particles

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where a new world would not reset map and quest progress

  • Fixed an issue where dialogue with NPCs would not trigger properly

  • Fixed an issue where the attack animation and hits were out of sync

  • Fixed daggers having longer use range than axes

  • Candles no longer sink underground and can now be placed properly

  • Fixed a bug where the day and night ambience sfx would not be triggered

  • Removed screen resolutions that could break the UI in the settings

  • Fixed loading screens not displaying the correct dynamic text

  • Fixed several visual inconsistencies in the main menu

  • Added missing interaction tooltip for sitting

  • Minor fixes and adjustments
