addedAbout the current development stage:Before I talk about the new stuff for the demo, I just want to share that this has been super fun but also quite challenging . It would be an understatement to say that I've never worked so hard for something in my life but every minute of it is worth it. It may seem that little content was added for the game, but making content is easy , but It all goes to waste if it is made for a badly-designed game.
changedAbout the current development stage:Which is something I can only fix if I heavily rely on player feedback , I keep placing emphasis on that fact and I always will.
addedAbout the current development stage:After I know 100% I've made the foundations for a fun game, only then I'll start adding content. (which there is not a lack of ideas lol)
added1) New Level Design PhilosophyNew one aims for consistency .
added1) New Level Design PhilosophyA level must look different, that much is obvious, but it also must feel and play different ! I aimed to fix this with this new set of levels.

About the current development stage:

Before I talk about the new stuff for the demo, I just want to share that this has been super fun but also quite challenging. It would be an understatement to say that I've never worked so hard for something in my life but every minute of it is worth it. It may seem that little content was added for the game, but making content is easy, but It all goes to waste if it is made for a badly-designed game.

Which is something I can only fix if I heavily rely on player feedback, I keep placing emphasis on that fact and I always will.

After I know 100% I've made the foundations for a fun game, only then I'll start adding content. (which there is not a lack of ideas lol)

Lets cut straight to business:

1) New Level Design Philosophy

Old level design was messy and not very well thought out.

New one aims for consistency.

A level must look different, that much is obvious, but it also must feel and play different! I aimed to fix this with this new set of levels.

They are just two in the new demo, to test out if I am heading in the right direction, because if so, it gets easier from here on out to know what is fun and what is not, making new levels gets done faster knowing I'm doing them right.

For this demo there are just two, which are Robotics (Level 2) and Cybernetics (Level 3). I skipped level 1 due to the fact that It's flat and has no verticality, which is not interesting for the purposes of a demo.

2) Enemies got some love too!

Enemies were a bit buggy and too identical, now they have a common visual vocabulary and are more readable when in combat (things like feedback, noise, telegraphing, etc...) I've now added a couple of new enemies and revamped some old ones. Steam post imageThe Centurions above are the new enemy type, which the game will heavily rely upon as it's foot-soldiers. But we also have some new ones! Steam post imageAbove are the two Seekers: A Rocket-Launcher variant and a Railgun variant. And In front of them are thew new cannon-fodder type little guys: Clankers!

3) New hands!

Oh yeah, and we also got new hands. An absolute upgrade! They change texture when you get damaged!

Finally I'd also urge you to take a look at the New Roadmap with more defined goals and deadlines. Overall, since the last demo, the feel of the game has improved from initial feedback, but I'll keep an eye out because more will definitely improved and there is a lot of work ahead. It's almost there, but not quite there yet. I won't spoil more, I promise. Steam Next fest is here! Go try out the new demo!
