Hey everyone, we'd like to share an update regarding the planned launch of Project Regolith.
These past few weeks we've been promoting that Project Regolith would be launching this Friday, the 27th of October. We've been committed to this date for the past couple of months, but unfortunately, there's been a series of hiccups in Steam's build review process, and it's looking like we're not going to be approved for release by Valve's team in time to hit our deadline.
To be fully transparent about the issue: Early this morning we were notified that the Steam Review Team has been having connectivity issues that we hadn't yet encountered in our testing and review build of the game that we were planning to set live tomorrow. After a lot of experimentation today we're fairly confident we've ID'd the problem and implemented a fix, BUT this fix still needs to go through Steam's review process again, which can take a few days depending on their queue density.
So, what does this mean for launch?
Unless we get a miraculous reply from the Steam team early tomorrow morning during their office hours declaring that they're no longer having the connection problem, it seems we'll be pushing back launch by a few days at the very least.
We're fully aware of how frustrating this may be for those of you who've been keen to get your hands on the game, and trust me when I say that nobody's more frustrated at the situation than us.
Admittedly, blame for this issue lies on us as a team for leaving this review process so late, and not accounting for potential tech issues on Steam's end.
I know this sucks to hear, and it definitely sucks to write - So we'd like to apologize to you all for the delay. The moment we have more info we'll be sharing it via our Discord.
