Project Breakout changes
Version 1.0.4a is live!
This update adds a few gameplay balancing changes, new UI feedback elements, and a large number of fixes for NPC behavior, permissions, and combat handling.
CHANGELOG
Gameplay / Balancing
Added a hint for the security console access password (the other password still changes daily). - Increased pistol cooldown from 0.2s to 0.5s. - Increased assault rifle cooldown from 0.1s to 0.2s. - Adjusted item values for sniper rifles, guard keys, tazers, coffee beans, and potato chips (a). - Adjusted item probability distributions for certain storage containers to increase loot variety (a).
UI
Added a field-of-view slider. - Added an information display when entering usually illegal areas legally because of a special reason (e.g., the laundry while working there during work hours). - Added an information display when holding usually illegal items legally because of a special reason (e.g., planks while working as a carpenter during work hours). - Added a visualizer to indicate fist combat, melee weapon, and ranged weapon cooldowns.
Audio
Added a sound effect for reloading ranged weapons.
Misc
Player meta-progress is now backed up in an additional file to prevent progress loss during crashes. - Increased player marker trigger radius from 0.5 to 1.0. - Moved the door button of the large roof hut to the inside to prevent players from becoming stuck (e.g., on the highest level of the security building).
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue that caused certain flags not being properly synchronized resulting in several multiplayer synchronization issues (e.g., the remaining punishment time not being displayed on the client). - Fixed an issue that caused NPCs to think they had already reached their target path after a move-to-job interruption when they had not. - Fixed a bug that caused infirmary area permission reasons to not be assigned properly. - Fixed an issue that caused game object layer highlighting to sometimes remain permanently stuck because of timing issues with the pause menu and day phase changes. - Fixed an animation bug affecting the pistol, assault rifle, and sniper rifle after shooting while scoped. - Fixed items being usable while unconscious. - Fixed an issue that caused the player to not be placed in the bed of a (solitary) cell when unconscious but only arrested for a short period of time. - Fixed an issue that caused medical beds to remain permanently flagged as occupied because the unconscious character was never placed in the bed. - Fixed running minigame progress being able to become negative when missing the target area. - Fixed an issue that caused NPCs to become stuck when guards tried to detain non-prisoner NPCs. - Fixed the ladder in solitary confinement not being climbable by NPCs. - Fixed guard NPCs not properly continuing to escort detained prisoners after climbing a ladder. - Fixed network object hashes becoming corrupted for certain objects on several maps (a).
This update mainly focused on stability improvements and overall gameplay polish. The next updates will begin improving the map editor, followed by new gameplay content later on.
