Possible One: Lunar Industries changes
Hello Industrialists and Astronauts!
The wait is over. The New Astronaut System has left the beta branch and is now part of the main game for everyone, together with the reworked construction grid. No opt in, no password, just update and meet your crew. It is ready to play.
If you spent the last weeks on the beta branch, thank you. Your reports shaped this system more than any update we have shipped so far, and we fixed a long list of issues before sending it out to everyone. You can now switch your Beta Participation back to None, everything is on the main branch.
What Is the New Astronaut System?
Your astronauts stop being headcount and become a crew you grow, rotate, and look after. They have divisions, skills, and a life back on Earth between tours. Running a healthy base now means running a healthy crew.
Specialized Divisions, every astronaut belongs to a crew division with a core role and advanced jobs they can train into. Build the team your operation actually needs.
The Rotation Loop, out on the Moon an astronaut's tour timer counts down. Bring them home to Earth and they rest and recover while it climbs back up.
Homesick, not gone, a change driven by beta feedback. An astronaut whose tour runs out no longer retires for good. They become Homesick, keep working at reduced efficiency until you ship them home, and take longer to recover from the overstay.
Earthside Operations, a new hub where you hire, rest, and heal your crew, train them up, and load the next shuttle down to the lunar surface.
The Upgrade Tree, spend hard earned skill points to specialize into an advanced job, unlock permanent perks, or cross train as a backup in another division. Go deep, or go wide.
Crew Management Hub, one screen to oversee your entire roster, assignments, rotations, and the next shuttle manifest.
You Make This Possible!
To everyone who opted into the beta, played it hard, and pressed F8, thank you. You caught a bug that could freeze every vehicle on the surface, you told us the end of tour retirement felt too harsh, and you flagged the small stuff too, from shift indicators to button states. We fixed what you found, and the system that ships today is better for it. The full list is in the changelog below.
What Comes Next
The next update is a big one. We are restructuring how the game starts, and new content is coming alongside it. More on that next week, keep your comms open.
As always, the best way to help is to press F8 in game to send us bugs and feedback.
See you on the surface, The Possible One Team
Version 0.7.04.0404 Changelog
New Astronaut System
The full crew system from the beta is now in the main game. Specialized divisions, the rotation loop between the Moon and Earth, Earthside operations to hire, rest, and train your crew, the per astronaut upgrade tree, and the Crew Management Hub.
Fixes
Fixed some buildings being able to be built one inside the other.
Fixed a major issue where an astronaut returning home could cause all vehicles to stop.
Fixed vehicles going inside each other in the tutorial.
Fixed the Fuel Shortage event description, it now correctly shows the 50% cargo capacity reduction.
The return home caption on the astronaut window now follows the astronaut's state, plus several localization fixes.
New Astronaut System Fixes
End of tour reworked. An astronaut whose tour timer runs out becomes Homesick and keeps working at reduced efficiency instead of retiring. Ship them home and they recover, though more slowly after an overstay.
The Tour and Career card now turns red when a Moon tour has fewer than 5 days left, together with the ship home warning.
Added a "Send home" button to the astronaut selection.
Astronauts now earn triple experience from work shifts, based on your beta feedback.
Assignment slots now show an indicator when an astronaut is assigned outside their shift.
Old saves load safely under the new staffing rules. Mismatched assignments are kept but can only be unassigned, and a message on load explains the differences.
