Pool of Madness changes
Hail voidhunters!
Let me be your guide on this quick tour through the underworld of horror pool development. Just follow the sickly lantern light and the distant moans of the dead. I promise I won’t take much of your limited time.
Stocking up for rituals and better blood
Pop-a-pill - voidhunter’s supplies
In our last update we announced an art overhaul and Jarek, our art director, joining the team and breathing new life into Pool of Madness.
Apart from replacing the existing assets, Jarek has been churning out some new, great stuff we've had planned for a long time, and it's quite exciting to see some of our ideas come to life.
But enough talking. Here's a taste of things to come and a peek behind the scenes:
Steam post image Something to help you stock up on supplies for the rituals and unlock new gameplay features.
Steam post image Buying upgrades (WIP UI).
Here's the Pop-A-Pill automat in motion:
Recipe for an unholy vending machine:
base it on actual 1920s automats
imbue it with a nightmarish quality
Just stick your cue into the designated slot, let it drain your hard earned resources, and enjoy the product of your choice!
New blood, fresh fish carcasses
At Bit Golem, we believe that every respectable Lovecraftian pool game needs a steady, fresh supply of blood. So, among other things, Jarek has been working on upgrading the vein juice. This will make things like eradicating fish corpses more satisfying:
And since another vital element of horror pool is the proper amount and quality of lifeless brine-soaked ocean dwellers to destroy, we've also created new fish models and texture s.
PS No fish were harmed during the process.

40,000 wishlists reached
The night offered no rest. I saw the ship again, adrift beneath a starless firmament, and about it forty thousand watchful eyes.
Priest's journal
40,000 void hunters have answered the call of the sea. Thank you! If you haven't wishlisted yet, you know what to do. The Ancient Ones await their fresh shipment of souls.
The ship sails on
We've been featured on platforms like GameSpark (ありがとうございます!) and Alpha Beta Gamer lately. Thank you for shining the lighthouse spotlight on our vessel!
More whispers from the dark coming soon! Till then!
