Pool of Madness changes
Voidhunters, pause your rituals! We have a quick - but meaty - dispatch from the ship!
New physics
Check the videoclips below for a much better representation of the changes.
We’re in the middle of a new physics upgrade. In short - among other things, we’ve improved things like ball rolling, velocity, wall-bouncing and eliminated the "ice rink sliding" and "sticky carpet" situations. Implementing updates like lobbing balls should be easier now.
This should also allow us to modify physics using things like powerups - e.g. make the balls frenzied /charge them up and give them a satisfying velocity boost - which should be interesting.
Still have some feedback about the current physics? Let us know!
All this should make the new tables even more fun. What new tables, you ask? Happy to oblige:
New tables
Steam post imageHeavy work in progress - new table tests #1
We’re excited to finally introduce new tables to the game. Currently we’re playtesting a selection of them to pick the most fun ones and properly model and texture them.
Here’s another taste - note these are early prototypes that need tender, eldritch care:

Clarity-focused updates
Finally, we’re working on a brand new system aimed at considerably improving the clarity of the game. It consists of three parts:
a journal reacting to new mechanics you discovered
context panels (e.g. hovering over balls during the game to check how they work)
an unobtrusive, concise help system
That’s all for now. Keep watch on the wireless station - more news to follow.
