It has been a busy few months of hard work and QA, but Multiplayer at last makes it into Planetation! In v0.14 you can play with up to 8 players in one world, all exploring and exploding at the same time!

Major Changes

  • Added 8 player co-op multiplayer

    • Note: Expect bugs - lots of them. We are particularly interested in what feels slow or laggy or bad, so give it a go!

    • Right-click "Join Game" via the Steam friends list

  • Reworked Abandoned Bunkers (previously Outback Harmsteads)

    • Now appears randomly throughout the Outback, instead of in their own sub-Region (meaning they can now spawn on hillsides and creeks). Builds a circular fence at a random distance around the bunker, then populates the interior with buildings and crops

  • Polished Fibergrass

  • Added new Spring Sprout landmark to the Mesa

  • Added new Quartz Sliver landmark to the Mesa

  • Increased spawn rate of Quartz Spires in the Mesa by ~25%

  • Reduced jetpack speed from 600 to 550 and greatly reduced energy efficiency by ~55%

  • Reduced maximum player interaction distance from 700 to 400

  • Removed the starting player energy battery

  • Fixed dropped items (mostly quartz dust and harvested crops) spawning below the ground

  • Changed the Torch toggle button from right click to left click

  • Changed the starting time of day from 0.2 to 0.1

Minor Changes

  • Added team names to the M.A.T.E. Scan

  • Added new fuse particles and sound effect to lit Boomshrooms

  • Added distance labels (in meters) to the compass

  • Added fluid fill bar to inventory item icons such as the Jerrycan

  • Fixed sound effects having a noticeable delay when first played

  • Increased the brightness of night time

  • Fixed Ironberry Crops always showing as Stunted (red widget)

  • Changed 'teleport' console command to 'move'

  • Merge 'teleport-region' and 'teleport-biome' console commands into 'teleport-to' and 'teleport', which can now take a location OR a region/biome name OR a player name OR "mech"

  • Added 'break' and 'repair' console commands, which kill and revive the player/tractormech

  • Added 'complete-quest' console command, to instantly complete a quest

  • Fixed Protatoes using Consume on right click instead of Eat

  • Fixed Bonebark Trees sometimes not spawning any Bonebark

  • Improved performance of the Outback ambient wind particle effect

  • Fixed Genehouse legs being visible in scans
