QoL Update v0.8.5 Is Now Live
We continue refining the experience with smaller but important improvements that make everyday gameplay smoother, clearer, and more immersive.
This update focuses on quality of life, visual polish, and fixing details that help the world feel more responsive and consistent.
Highlights
Smarter Respawn Point Tracking
Managing your respawn points is now more intuitive.
When you set a new respawn point at a mattress, the game will now automatically:
Add the “Zzz” icon to your active respawn point
Remove it from previously used mattresses
This ensures your map always clearly shows your current respawn location without manual tracking.
Hobo Hauler Combat Interaction Improved
The autonomous driver of the Hobo Hauler now has a proper collider.
This means you can directly interact with him in combat, making encounters with this roaming vehicle more responsive and satisfying.
Meteorite Presence Enhanced
Fallen meteorites now feel more impactful in the world.
Added smoke visual effect for better visibility
Meteorites now emit intense heat up to +70°C within a 5 meter radius, scaling with distance
This adds both atmosphere and gameplay consideration when approaching them.
Visual Improvements
Improved overall sky appearance for a more immersive world
Added Dynamic Sky toggle in settings
Settings and Connectivity Improvements
Added “Default Port” in settings for easier troubleshooting (i.e. when your Wasteland is failing to load, it can be caused by unavailable default port 7777, so now it can be easily changed via settings with check if port is available or not in your OS)
Changed localhost connection to 127.0.0.1 for better reliability (it may help with very rare issues on Windows using non-english language as default)
Fixes
Fixed FPS cap not being saved after exiting the game
Fixed Quest Log button not opening the correct section in the Journal
