Patch v0.8.9.26 Is Now Live

Thank you all for the feedback after the release of Looting 2.0 in v0.8.9.

We are reading your reactions, watching how the new system feels in real gameplay, and reacting quickly with fixes, quality of life improvements, and new additions. This patch is focused on polishing the new looting layer, improving world behavior, and making the battlefield aftermath more readable and immersive.

We are also very excited about what comes next. After these important improvements, we are moving closer to bringing new content into the game very soon, and we will share the first teasers sooner than you might think.

Main Highlight

Loot Set Radius Restrictions

We have introduced Radius Restrictions for loot sets.

This means that the farther you travel from the center of the map, the better loot can appear in loot tables in general.

The goal is to make exploration feel more rewarding and give distant regions stronger value. The deeper you go into the wasteland, the more exciting the rewards can become.

Personalized Fallen Target Highlights

We have improved the highlight system for fallen targets by adding faction based colors.

This helps players after large battles or faction skirmishes, where many bodies can be scattered around. Now you can more easily focus on what matters to you, decide who you want to loot, and read the aftermath of the fight in a more immersive way.

Highlight colors:

  • Lowlifes: White

  • Bandits: Violet

  • TOS: Red

  • OGD: Turquoise

  • Dustborn: Yellow

  • Monsters: Green

The highlight system is now invoked only within a 30 meter radius around the player.

World Spawn Improvement

Faction trucks can now also appear at faction camps in the wasteland.

They will park for a short time and then drive out to deliver cargo to their destinations. This makes faction activity feel more alive and adds more dynamic movement to the world.

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Default map zoom is now more zoomed out, allowing players to see more locations at first glance

  • Added alternate description to Scavenger limit while looting

  • Inventory now automatically closes when you take the last item from a loot interface

  • Katana and sword can now also be used for making rags and ropes

  • Improved health icon display so it properly shows health extension above 100 from the Post Apocalyptic Badass skill

Fixes

  • Fixed resistance values not updating properly when dragging one hat onto another hat

  • Fixed issue where players could not re-insure a vehicle after giving up ownership

  • Polished custom difficulty settings networking code for servers and Steam lobbies

  • Fixed rare sync anomalies related to loot amount and loot chance

  • Fixed enemy resistance settings affecting vehicles and buildings
