I just went to the supermarket and grabbed myself a nice cold Dev Log beer. The Beer is now sitting right to the left of my keyboard while I am writing about the progress which was made in the last few days:

I’ve been working for quite a while now on finally presenting the first playable slice of Paul to gather some feedback. But as it always goes when you’re close to finishing something, you start noticing everything that still needs attention. Mostly little things but also solid bugs which can be a gamebreaker. The codebase for Paul is already a few years old, and it’s interesting to see some of the coding ideas I had back then.

At the same time, I’m realizing just how many things are still needed and what urgently needs fixing:

  • Errors in the texts

  • Sounds not playing correctly

  • Tutorial still incomplete

But it’s fun to finally polish a section to the point where I can show it to someone without immediately blushing. Here’s a work-in-progress picture of the first section I’m currently working on.

Steam post imageAfter spending the last two months in Franconia, I’m now back in Berlin, enjoying the slowly awakening spring. Here’s a picture of my current workspace in Berlin.

Best wishes, Tobi
