Preface
Big thanks to the two ladies who’ve been grinding the game lately and dropping all that feedback! You asked if breeding could be a bit more interesting and, more importantly, if we could get something truly "cute" to breed. I loved those ideas, so this update is pretty much all about that. On top of that, I took the chance to give all the older breeding animals a long-overdue visual overhaul. Let me know what you think and if anything needs a tweak.
Happy breeding!
Breeding Reforged
All breeding animals have been completely visually remade and enhanced.
Chickens, geese, etc., now lay a hatchable egg after pregnancy. Hatchable eggs can be incubated in a Heat Area, such as near any fire source.
Newborns always receive a color variation based on their primary colors. There is also a small chance for various exotic colors to appear.
Every birth now has a chance for twins or even triplets.
When purchasing an animal from the shop, it will always be delivered as a juvenile.
Increased spawn chances for all shop animals.
Feeding Troughs updated to meet the new standards. Entities in range will now only be fed automatically if their hunger level drops below 50%.
In Cozy Mode, breeding animals on your own land cannot starve.
New
Nibbels Nibbels are cute little creatures that can be kept on your own land. Their droppings are well-known for having a high burn value. If you overfeed them, they will duplicate. Duplicates have the same chance of exotic colorations as normal breeding. Right from the start, Flynn offers a quest that rewards you with your first Nibbel for free. Flynn the Exotic Merchant now always has one Nibbel in stock.
Luvia Raptors With a bit of luck, Flynn will have a Luvia Raptor Egg in his stock on Market Day. Luvias aka Evercutes are fully grown at their second stage. They stay cute forever and can be paired. Keep in mind that carnivores can be a bit more difficult to provide for than herbivores.
Luvia Dodis With a bit of luck, Flynn will have a female or/and male in his stock on Market Day. Herbivore. Live Births.
Compsognathus Because it was finally time for at least one normal dino to be in there! There is a very low chance of obtaining one of their eggs when clearing a dirty object. Careful when breeding as females lay 3–5 eggs per clutch.
Improvements
Fists must now be explicitly selected to strike with them. So that only those who actually deserve it will feel them!
Placed hatchable eggs can now also be picked up simply by pressing the interaction key (default E).
The progress of placed hatchable eggs is now displayed in the tooltip.
Animal tooltips now also display what they eat. The 'Animal Food' book is no longer sold by Jeremy.
Tooltips for entities now also show health points and all durations for pairing actions.
Item tooltips now also display the burn value.
The tooltip for collectable flowers, mushrooms, and ores in the open world has been disabled. As it was more distracting than helpful.
Tall grass now always drops 1 Grass.
All farm animals and breeding creatures now have a chance to drop poop.
Poop can now be eaten. For whatever reason you'd want to do that.
Footstep sounds on dirt are now less intense.
Winter market days are back.
New aging and form system implemented.
Many systems have been updated to offer more possibilities.
Fixes
Fixed a bug where shops did not offer the correct event items on event days.
