New
Vesh the Elemental Joining from the very start of the game and basically just as lost as your own character. Vesh cannot be controlled and will pop up here and there from time to time. In terms of progression it is assumed that you meet Vesh right at the beginning of the game. So if you load an older save and are meeting Vesh for the first time, the quest timeline will need to catch up a bit first. Vesh already offers the first starter quests and will be expanded over time.
Shortcut - Toggle Fists You can now switch to fists and back using a shortcut. The default key is G, but it's fully rebindable in the settings. Thanks for the suggestion, Mikazuki!
Animation and Usage Systems Updated This was a truly massive undertaking and took up a lot of time. Only for it to look pretty much the same as before in the end. You’ve just gotta love it... ha. ːsteamhappyː
The animation system for all tools, weapons, and related character animations has been overhauled. This allows for more detailed and improved character animations in the future.
Weapons have been categorized into initial types.
Example
One-Handed Swords: Well-balanced between damage and attack speed.
One-Handed Maces
More damage, slower attack speed, but significantly higher knockback.
The animation set for one-handed axes and one-handed pickaxes has been split to handle combat swings and mining separately.
The individual attack range for all weapons now accurately aligns with their new respective "whoosh" vfx. Plus a little bit more leeway, simply because it feels better.
Trees and rocks can now be damaged by any weapon. However, effective gathering remains exclusive to axes and pickaxes.
Also prepared the system to potentially allow combo attacks in the future.
You can now simply use the hoe instead of the pickaxe to remove tilled soil or paths. The workhammer can still be used to pick up paths.
Improvements
Improved health bar positioning for several enemy types.
Added scrollbars to the most important UI sections.
UI visuals upgraded in many areas.
NPC quest indicators have been enhanced.
Region transitions are now more stable.
Quest system expanded.
Optimized performance across several systems.
Fixes
Item pickup hints are now triggered at the correct time. Thanks for the report, Red Mantis!
Debuffs such as curses are now correctly applied to enemies again.
Fixed an issue that occasionally caused the game to crash during region transitions.
The outhouse is now displayed correctly again.
