changedDemo Changes for This MonthController support is now much better than it was before and the game is fully playable at least with an Xbox or PS5 controller. There's still a lot of improvements to be made, if you have feedback I would love to hear it.
changedDev Blog: The Defiled LegionYou've proved that you're capable of taking down some of their small-fry, now let's see what you've really got. The Legion have taken control of one of our newest ships: the Reliant. The Reliant was set to be christened right after the Legion turned their guns on us, but now they're keeping it under careful watch at the shipyards. With that said, I need you to help us get it back. Without that cruiser, we have very little chance at beating those traitorous bastards.

Dev Blog: The Defiled Legion

You've proved that you're capable of taking down some of their small-fry, now let's see what you've really got.

Oh, and if you don’t rescue The Reliant, don’t bother coming back at all...

Both the Samarin Empire and their famed defenders fell to the influence of The Veil. During the midgame you'll be facing off against The Legion in the various cities and fortresses they still control. Legionaries are a professional soldiers utilizing shields and energy weapons. Their fleets are composed of drone carriers, nimble torpedo fighters, missile corvettes, and cruisers equipped with energy lances.

Not all Legionnaires fell to the Veil's influence, a loyal contingent of soldiers still holds on led by the heroic Captain Anto. They'll assist you where they can and you'll have the opportunity to unlock more support from them as you complete their questline.

Legion territory also opens up new objectives, the next tier of resources and weapons, and a new set of ships. Star forts with their shield barriers will offer a difficult vault to crack and great rewards. It'll be up to you to beat back The Legion and defeat their new leader, an artificial intelligence named Northwind.

What's Next

  • Combat stats changes: We're looking into giving enemies higher health but spawning fewer of them. Also, less projectiles from both the player and enemies but harder hitting.

  • Item tooltip redesign and some other UI changes around quests during a run.

  • Player will get a full loadout on death.

  • Enemy behavior changes around dogfighting.

  • Controller sensitivity setting.

Otherwise, the team is focusing on polishing the midgame before moving on to finally start work on the end game. We'll have more info to share about that next month!
